the challenge with DoL fates, is that right now, they would be useful for leveling, but that is about it. Why would anyone go back and do them later? If the fates are class specific, once you level past the fate, and to the new level cap, what is your incentive to go back? It seems like it would end up with people just doing them by themselves. To combat that, SE would have to make a carrot dangle mechanic like the Relic weapon phases that pushed people back into older content like the DoB fates did. The difference here, is that once people finish leveling a battle class, there were a bunch of others to level to get cross class skills, etc. That isn't the case here. How would you get people back to do them? They would have to have some cool, unique, or expensive rewards for successfully finishing.

I love the idea of DoL / DoH content then isn't just "make this", "go get this". I'd love to see something like hamlets, or DoL tag along dungeons, or something, but I just don't know how it could be done, and still remain valid. I wouldn't want SE to spend a bunch of time building out something like DoL fates, and then people do them once, and that is it. There should be more replayability to them to keep people coming back.

The new things coming in 3.0 seem exciting, we will see how that goes.
