    DoL FATES

    I was thinking that it would be great if we had Gathering FATES. People would call out like they do Hunts but for these fates.



    A miner Fate could consist of a clearing a path as a carriage travels down this road and you have to mine all the rocks in the road to get rid of them.

    Another miner Fate could be in a cave that is rumbling and you and your fellow miners have to mine as much of the Mineral as possible before the cave collapses.

    A BTN Fate could have a big tree growing roots rapidly and if you and your fellow BTN's dont chop those roots fast enough it could over take the village.

    These fates will not only give you great xp but when you gather from these fates you get random ore/branches/lumber/ect ect.

    Only thing that comes to mind about this are the following:

    - Fishers have to mooch up the mother of all fishes that require them to be harpoon experts (think Assassin's Creed IV whaling) and everyone gets a collective payout if they successfully "catch" the whopper. Basically, just getting lucky, then a collective casting effort requiring X "catches" of the big one before it gets landed. For lols, have a battlecraft component where it has to be beaten down at one point before OMG WE ALL GET EATEN BY MOBY DICK.
    - Everyone collects X fish in Y time (one of those gather/collect FATEs, maybe?)
    - Depopulating a pond of undesired predators (the more of those you catch, the more progress goes; releasing them counts against the quota needed).

    My only problem with this suggestion is that we already have fates spawning all over the place. More would probably push it to the point of ridiculous. Maybe something like those basic trainings for DoM and DoW instead? You could run those appropriate to your level (individually or as a group) and earn the exp that way. It would beat grinding or leve leveling for sure.

    Heck, it would be really nice if we could do that for DoH too. Like you have to determine if something is a fake or not. Or maybe judge a contest between lower ranked members of your guild.

    the challenge with DoL fates, is that right now, they would be useful for leveling, but that is about it. Why would anyone go back and do them later? If the fates are class specific, once you level past the fate, and to the new level cap, what is your incentive to go back? It seems like it would end up with people just doing them by themselves. To combat that, SE would have to make a carrot dangle mechanic like the Relic weapon phases that pushed people back into older content like the DoB fates did. The difference here, is that once people finish leveling a battle class, there were a bunch of others to level to get cross class skills, etc. That isn't the case here. How would you get people back to do them? They would have to have some cool, unique, or expensive rewards for successfully finishing.

    I love the idea of DoL / DoH content then isn't just "make this", "go get this". I'd love to see something like hamlets, or DoL tag along dungeons, or something, but I just don't know how it could be done, and still remain valid. I wouldn't want SE to spend a bunch of time building out something like DoL fates, and then people do them once, and that is it. There should be more replayability to them to keep people coming back.

    The new things coming in 3.0 seem exciting, we will see how that goes.
