    Windows 2000 wasn't really developed as for home end user systems, so it doesn't really "count" for purposes of "every other major windows version sucks"

    I see no good reason to get windows 8. It doesn't do anything new that helps the user unless you are using a touch screen, and only serves to aggravate seasoned users of all previous Windows OSes.
