Trial on Steam - Regular on Mog Station, but now for Heavensward

My friend began free trial on Steam and upgrade to Regular through Mog Station.
Now, he has Heavensward by gift. but cannot add to steam library because in Steam still FFXIV trial version.
And cannot add code from SQUARE ENIX Store too, because his ID is Steam.

What should he do?

Unfortunately, steam accounts are treated as a separate console. He needs to buy the steam version of Heavensward for it to work. Since his account is still fairly new, it may be cheaper to buy a regular PC version, create a new account and add the gifted Heavensward. (This would imply starting a new character, however, but it may be worth it in the long run).
