So far the dragons haven't come across as anything but racist pricks, IMO. The whole "The sons must pay for the fathers misdeeds" mentality is simply wrong

Maybe part of the storyline is that the WoL(s) can teach both sides to amend their ways and show them they're both wrong (the dragons and the Ishgardians). xD
