Hello players interested in bettering their time spent in dungeons. I can promise you an increase in Commendations, and the thrill and heartbeat spikes of being the best you can be.
Shit is situational. Adapt, (every run is slightly different as tanks are people and not machines,) and don't rush to the meat of your rotation. And know if it just won't work... sometimes there is not enough oomfph or know-how.
As soon as you zone in start casting Stoneskin II. Then protect when the loading circle falls. I usually don't stoneskin the slowpokes unless it was the tank.
I am quite overgeared, current Expert: Roulette, you pull everything to a stop and most tanks do it anyway. The altars with trash of WP HM can be done in 2 pulls with most parties, but you really need to sprint and stoneskin the tank as he gets them. First is 2 groups, then it's the last 3 to the door. You will have trouble with 3, ask for mage LB or remind the tank of their 5min ability being used early.
High: Roulette current playlist of dungeons has more variety in what pulls can be made. But as a full i130 WHM with 2 i110 rings that are DPS minded and a crit stick zeta... I like every pull to any door or stop. It's just easier with current gear. But I've been doing it this way for long before max gear.
The plan: potency+ HoT with Holy spam and burn down mobs before you run out of tricks.
I don't cure once I've prepped and started the Holy spam. I often get about 6 out before I need to tap off cleric and cure2 the tank. Sometimes, I'll simply bene them between holy and continue burning them down. Remember to move to stop casts while trying to bene for those oh shit moments.
When I zone in typically the most important thing i say asap, is, "Pull everything always, and convalesce once they are gathered." If I have time before they run off, or you know how to auto run and type, I suggest ask to claim everything so I can stoneskin otw (with sprint and line of sight consideration). Can you tell I am always in DF? (having to bother to ask simple etiquette.) I don't know why some tanks ranged at something they run through. Use the GCD for flash run through.... If the mobs aren't there, pause a sec then flash.... not hard....
Ok shut up and state the rotation:
On the way: stay up front with tank, don't aggro though, stoneskin as he pulls first set, then sprint, try to stoneskin after each new set or when they take a few hits, being near full when you start rotation at the kill spot is important.
At the kill spot: Eye for Eye if you didn't on the pull > Divine Seal > Cure II if necessary which WAR usually is > Medica II > Cure2? > Regen tank > Regen yourself? might need to > Cleric > If tank is low already I will Chainspell Holy to get that 3 sec stun asap, tank should have popped convalesce > If I didn't use swift cast on first I use it for second holy so the stun resistance doesn't happen so fast, no effect doesn't count as your 3 before resist > a few holys, target is on tank and eyes are on his hp in party bar (what buffs is he active with?), you MUST dodge the aoe, not the first few (ty stun) but super important after stun is useless > if you and your party are strong enough, sometimes I don't even have to cure until the swarm is halved and/or dead, if dead, be mp savvy and just stoneskin for auto-regen otw to next engagement.
A good tactic for the thicker pulls is the tank to use their 5min ability at the start of the pull, it is a tool, not an oh shit, and you don't need it on bosses.... like ever. This allows you to get those HoT up so you can get the trash thinned out before you and the tank have burned your best cool downs.
I hope the atrocious aesthetics of my layout don't discredit the solid game plan I am offering. It works for all the trash pulls and I am constantly getting good remarks and commendations. I use ACT... I see it working very well. In some crystal tower trash pulls I am top dps with often 1000+ DPS. Although CT are easy and you only need 1 healer, I tend to play DPS letting the other healer actually be engaged and solo heal us, and maintain 300-350 DPS depending on my MP. Speaking of single target DPS and bosses...
Single target DPS goals: keep Aero2 full time, Aero1 and fluid toss when you have to dodge, if you have far to run, spam aero1 while moving, it has initial dmg and its better than nothing. Have ethers handy, use shroud for mp, thank bards who see you are worth ballad. I never ask for ballad, and I try to never ask for a moment to get mp. You should know when to back off, or simply downgrade to just healing. Dumping hate with shroud is super useful and I hope you know you can use it between holy on those massive pulls above. Anyway Stone2 and presence of mind is wicked DPS. If you are struggling with MP just maintain both DoTs while you wait for ether cooldown or shroud. I use HQ Mega Ethers, cheap to make and lower cooldown, like 3:35?
Most of all HAVE FUN. If anyone is on gamepad and wants... I could bother giving my layout and the reasoning.
TL;DR E4E > DS > Med2 > Regen > Cleric > PoM > Holy > Swift > Holy x7 > Bene when needed - ask tanks to use convalesce and/or HG/Holm
