After hearing one of the mini boss battle themes (?) in the Rank 30 Ul'Dah mission, it seems like there are still some great tracks that most people haven't heard yet, but I still think that quite a few of the dungeons could use actual themes. The Hamlets especially need a default small village theme.
A specific Notorious Monster battle theme would be great as well.

Yes, there are definitely a lot of good tracks that are in the soundtrack but which I don't think are in the game yet. I should be honest in saying that I haven't played through all of the story missions, so there are certainly a lot of tracks that are in the game that I don't know about. I don't believe the chocobo theme is in game yet, though. In my opinion it's one of the best chocobo themes Uematsu has done. I'm curious, though: is the full version of "Answers" anywhere in game yet? Because that song....wow.
In the end I'm in favor of adding more Uematsu music to the game regardless of where it's added. But the OP makes a great point: dungeon-specific music would be nice, and the tracks the OP links to are excellent.
I dont think any of the current tracks even unused will be any good for dungeon, The Phantom Forest is so good, miss it!!
Mistbeard Cove's music is so awesome...I wish there were equally awesome music for Cass Hollow, Nanawa, Coppernell, Mun Tuy, and Tam Tara.... ; ;
Exactly. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, some areas do sound better with just atmospheric noises, but that should be reserved for certain sections of dungeons. A mix would be great...such as the very top of a tower dungeon, lowest part or the intro section of a normal dungeon being just ambient noise, while the rest had a specific track.

For some reason, your description puts this certain track into my mind:Exactly. Actually thats a great example, something that actually really captures the feel of the area.
Seems like the japanese side of the forums also have a similar topic:

I think that topic completely about battle music, but i'm not sure.

Actually, it would make the game for me if in the next cutscene after Futures Perfect, showing what happened to the heroes of Eorzea, the accompaniment was "You Are Not Alone!" by NU from FFIX

Nice post, Nobuo Uematsu is probably the only guy thats done what hes set out to do for the game.
