To spend or save poetics

Now with heavensward on the horizon, there is the question in my head wether to save or spend the remaining poetics.

In the past you were usually able to trade your old stones in for the new currency. On the other hand there is also the question on how many weeks we have left to actually cap our stones. It might be possible that the next week is the last one we got, considering the 19th is a friday, which would mean we would only have 3 days max in that week, so unlikely (also servers will be down at least for a day).

Whats your take on it?

I'm just spending all mine on gear right now, not like poetics or i120-i130 gear will matter that much after expansion

I'm spending. I've heard that MCH will use the same levelling gear as ARC/BRD (if anyone can confirm, that'd be great), so I'm hoping it'll extend to the sol/poetic gear sets too. If I lose my gamble, atleast my BRD will have a slightly easier time levelling when I get around to it

Thinking the same way. Picking up a dps weapon this week, and some gear next. The I will have three roles set through to 55 at least.

The way I see it Law tomes are going to be really low rates just like Philo was at the start so if we can trade them I don't expect a very good exchange rate.

However if we can, would be nice to have the option to trade them in for either Law or Scripts or whatever the crafting "tomes" are called as I've forgotten off the top of my head.

But I'm not getting my hopes up seeing how everyone needs to get at least 10 levels to make use of them in the first place, and the capped tomes aren't out for a month? so there needs to be some form of grind to tie people over till then.

Spending them as soon as I earn them here. I've got three or four classes I'll probably take to 60, and the better geared they are at the expansion start, the easier a time I'll have of it.

I'm saving my poetics to buy the DRK blade as soon as possible, so I have something decent to ease my level up process during the first levels...

is it confirmed that there will be magitek weapons for the new jobs? was going to hold onto poetics just in case, cause it'd be pretty sweet to grab a dyable Tron GS and gun, but I had only heard there'd be primal DRK/MCH/AST weapons for sure(for sure? not actually sure come to think of it...)

There's Ironwork Weapons in the Benchmark video for the new Jobs, and Yoshida did it in the last live letter.

Apparently, there are going to include the remaining ironworks weapons for the new jobs, as they did with the sold weapon when NIN was released. Granted, that happened in a different scenario where that weapon was still useful. But some people saw in the Benchmark video a DRK using an Ironworks Greatsword.
