Multibox from one PC?

I just log into my main account, head to the start menu, then go back with my task bar and open up the launcher again. I never had that issue before, probably cause you already had an launcher open but wasn't visible.

Would I need an entirely new account or does using two different service accounts on the same account work?

Needs two different accounts; you can't log onto another character on the same account unfortunately.

Back during the 3102 epidemic, people reported being able to login to a different datacenter. Kinda defeats the purpose of multiboxing, though.

You cannot have 2 launchers open, but once one launcher has been closed (after you launch the game client), you are free to open another launcher to initiate the game client. What you need is two different service accounts to login simultaneously, they can be under the same account (Sqaure Enix ID). You just have to make sure to choose the other service account that hasn't been logged on when you click "Start" in the game client.
