Multibox from one PC?

Is it possible to multibox XIV from one PC? (I can't seem to open a second instance of the game)

If it isn't against ToS I'd like to buy a second account so I can trade items between my characters since I can't right now with them being on my main account. I'd have to run two instances of the game to do this...

Yes you can, if you have a good PC

I just log into my main account, head to the start menu, then go back with my task bar and open up the launcher again. I never had that issue before, probably cause you already had an launcher open but wasn't visible.

Sandboxie. Google it.
I've been using it for quite some time to dualbox (bot :P ) in another MMO.
First you launch one client sandboxed, then another one not sandboxed. Opposite won't work. Limited (free) Sandboxie allows you to have only one (1) sandbox. It's enough for previous usage scenario.
If you want to run more than two instances of the same application, then you must run each instance in different sandbox.

Needs two different accounts; you can't log onto another character on the same account unfortunately.

Back during the 3102 epidemic, people reported being able to login to a different datacenter. Kinda defeats the purpose of multiboxing, though.

You can have two different accounts open at any time or more on the same PC. I often have one on one screen, one on the other open.
The thing is

*Must have 2+ accounts
*Must click the [play] button before opening a new launcher or it will say client already open
*Datacentre and other stuff does not matter

There were some confusions with early legal terms when you buy PS3/PS4 and it makes you think you can sign in to a different character on same account but this is wrong, what sove92 is probably referring to is that you used to be able to crash your client so that your character 'is still logged into the game' then log into another and freiend yourself so you could send mail between your characters on the same account. You could not physically play both at the same time.

You cannot have 2 launchers open, but once one launcher has been closed (after you launch the game client), you are free to open another launcher to initiate the game client. What you need is two different service accounts to login simultaneously, they can be under the same account (Sqaure Enix ID). You just have to make sure to choose the other service account that hasn't been logged on when you click "Start" in the game client.
