i think of blogs like poetry, i won't read other peoples. i don't blog either but if did at most i'd probably only want people to read mine and i'd probably never read anyone elses lol. it's probably why sites dedicated to things like that force u to do things like comment and judge on 3-5 of them before u could post 1, forces them all to do so just for others to be forced to do theres lol. even on the forums 90% of the time i feel like no one is really reading my posts as i watch the same 2 people troll threw 2-3pages of arguments passing them up in every thread. i swear they paid se workers an they know u'r all to lazy to go read all the stuff in between for later when this game gets made how they wanted no matter how many suggestions were made. so many good ideas i see as i read them, but never are they the ones being talked about, /shakes head.

but yeah blogs, sorry to say i can't read the stuff. ty for reading this sorta rant though. lmao.

Though on the matter of pop-culture, I do enjoy poking, prodding, or beating to a bloody pulp, the forth wall. I try hand do so tactfully and in a matter that would make sense, though. (An example being referring to 'Stuff on my Miqo'te Magazine' in midst RP - a reference to stuffonmycat.com, though specialized magazines and periodicals were certainly not uncommon once the Gutenburg Press came about - and considering the number of flyers posted about Eorzea, I've my doubts that times do not allow for such a thing. o Ao;;;;; )
That's one other way to do it, make a pop-culture reference but reword it to be relevant to the enviroment. Like when I make my Final Fantasy based Star Trek quotation: "Make it kupo!"

Along with randomly saying "wark wark!" just for the hell of it.

But in terms of readership, would you read something similar? GM Dave's blog was written in a similar format - from the eyes of someone who lives in that world rather than the eyes of someone playing in that world - and certainly there was readership there. But could such a project held out by a player, rather than a GM, and done for fun, really garner a readership worthy of paying out real coin to host it, to name it, to maintain it?

Have you written something similar? Read something similar? Would you keep up with such a thing if the writing and characterization were well done?
I don't think he was really a GM. I also +1'd the second post in this thread.

If your writing is interesting enough then I'll read it on your site. Otherwise I don't see why you couldn't just do that here with the lodestone blogs.
