Will we get physical copy in early access if we preorder? Any statement on preload?

    Hey everyone!

I was wondering if we preorder the physical copy of the game from SE store, will it be delivered on 19th June, at the start of the early access?

My account is a PS 4/PC linked account, already bought game for the latter, however my internet connection is not the fastest, nor am I the only one using it, so I was thinking of getting the physical copy for PS4.
Does anyone know if it will be delivered on friday, so I will only have to install and patch, or will we just get an EA code and still have to download the game? Talking of which, will we get the chance to preload the game a few days before launch? Haven't read anything solid on either of these issues.

Thank you in advance and I apologise if this has already been discussed before.

If the PS3 version is any clue, you will get a download code you can use to temporarily play the game ahead of when you get the actual codes allowing you to play for as long as you have an account. You can still play on the other versions you maintain, you just can't go into Ishgard on them till you can those versions as well. Yes, I have every belief that, like the core game, you're going to need to buy Heavensward for every version you play.

Oh thank you but my issue is not with buying them. I am aware that we have to get both. I already got digital CE for PC (since it's cheaper there :P) and will get regular version for PS4.

My question mainly aimed at 19th June. I am hoping that we will get a preload so I can get ready with my slower connection for the game, as I would like to enjoy it on Friday. Failing that, however, I wouldn't mind buying a physical copy of the game so I don't have to download the whole HW content for PS4, only the patches (and i would have as much time to download for laptop as I want since I can play on PS). But for that, I would like to know if the physical copy will be delivered to me on 19th. I didn't find any info about it in the store and it just said "Available 23rd June".

TL;DR: I am wondering if physical preorder copies will arrive by 19th June and if we get to preload the game.

Even with a disc I think only 25% of the expansion would be on the disc and 75% from patch.

Its an expansion so youll have to download the expansion content on a maintenance day before release, even if you dont buy it. Likely on June 16th. As for shipping its probably different for each retailer and when they receive it before shipping to you.

Literally the only thing you needed the disc for on console was to put the client into your XMB. Even on PS3, once you put the disc in to register your game you never needed it again.

When I bought ARR for PS3, we got a PSN code on our Gamestop receipts that allowed us to download a digital version of the client to play during early access. Then after the game actually released and people had their physical copies, they had about a week to actually install their disc memory to the console in order to "register" their copy of the game. It has already been stated that this will be the case for Heavensward. I believe the date given was June 27th, and if you haven't "registered" your copy of Heavensward by inserting the physical copy of the disc then you will no longer be able to play on the early access client.

So to answer your question: Yes even pre-ordering a physical copy you should get some kind of code for a digital version of the game to enjoy early access with, but no your physical copy will not get to you on the 19th. You won't get your physical copy until the 23rd at the earliest, but depending on your retailer/shipping options it could be a day or two later. However you shouldn't get your hopes up about not having to download anything on console, because that isn't true at all. Like Felis said, the disc only has the information for the client (which according to PSN was about 1.6GB). You should expect to have to download anywhere from 10-30GB worth of data in the form of a patch after installing your client, unless SE brings out the 3.0 patch before HW EA.

Oh thank you everyone! Well my best hope now is that we will get a preload. Even if 2-3 days, that would possibly enable me to play on the start of EA which would be nice. I had no idea that the expansion disc would hardly contain anything, I was a bit naive then to think it would contain most of 3.0 :P

I do hope they will enable us to download the client on 16th, but if we will *have to* download, then it's tuesday and possibly wednesday when I won't be able to play. Would have hoped for a "download in background" approach but it will probably not be the case I am afraid.
