Heavensward installation size, drive selection for patch downloads

I have ff14 installed on my SSD D: drive, my SSD C: drive is fairly small (about 4-5GB free). I noticed with patch updates it downloads the data to C: first and installs to D: from there. I assume Heavensward will be a huge download. Is there any way to change the patch download folder to another drive?

I'd like to know this in advance so I know if I have to put in a lot of effort to get enough space free on my C: drive.

    Saving Space on SSD

Use this link to help cut down on size of windows 7. Most if not all work on windows 8 and 8.1 so give it a try.

Think it follows the system settings for your user's document's folder, so in theory you should be able to move that through the Location tab of the properties page for your My Documents folder to the other drive. Just a theory... not sure if anyone has actually done it yet.

Note though that when you move the folder, you will be moving everything with it and not just the folders in there that the game uses. Sometimes that folder gets pretty bloated over time.
