Steps of Faith pre nerf.

Because that was sooo much fun trying to coordinate a full party mixed with E, D and F players! Actually, I'm with you on the harder content, but not if its in a daily roulette crammed full of easier stuff (like the trial roulette). People still leave steps of faith as it is, and very few people select join in progress because of it too.

Also with you on the AFKers, which I loathe every since my WoW LFR days. Funnily enough, most of the AFKer back then were endgame raiders that saw the content as beneath them, and would rather autoattack while watching something else.

I've met those leechers. Majority BLM. They only put some damage to boss and then stop attacking.

The tanks refused to stop pulling so we could kick a leech BRD >.>. I never do Labyrinth at the end of the week anymore. I can't wait till we have the lowest ilvl sync.

By and large, the Alliance members don't care at all and just pull the next boss (they aren't waiting for anything). Also asking anyone to wait on opening the loot chest so we can kick is ignored and it appears some even get pleasure from opening the chest, due to the fact you simply asked them to wait to allow you to kick an afk leech.

Someone above had the perfect solution to that- have your party stand outside the barrier to the next encounter after asking the alliance to hold off on pulling... if they do it anyway, they can see what it's like to carry people who aren't doing anything with the 8 of you locked out. Well I suppose not all 8 people in your party will be in agreement re: the strategy since at least one is the leech in this scenario but the CT fights don't go well with less than 3 parties involved. Especially Atomos, by which point leechers should have been identified.

You know, maybe we need more content that was like Steps of Faith pre nerf. Or even stuff like the Odin trial. Content where you get punished for not outputting your best like you should.

You hit the nail on the head on that one. FFXI wouldn't even let you hit level cap until you beat Maat. And he was friggin tough!! This whole attitude of the game needs to let everyone win just so everyone feels better about themselves needs to stop.

At the end of the day if people can't beat steps of faith, its better for them to leave then to drag the whole game down with them just to keep a few people from unsubscribing.

If your having trouble join an FC, get folks that know the fight to help you, practice a little more, and try to learn the strategy. Once you learn the strategy, try teaching others. Don't go straight to the forums and beg for nerfs.

If people would let it, this game could be so much more fun than a weekly tomestone grind.

I had a few CT runs where everyone was overgeared and knew what the heck to do. I was so amazed at how fast we cleared it that I couldn't stop laughing. But even overgeared players can screw everyone over when they don't do their jobs properly. I had ST runs where we kept wiping on the Squires phase because no one was leading them to the proper spots.

Only one person has access to that button. Other healer was also new, not going to kick him for under-performance. Kicked people should not be able to resume the same instance, what good does it do?

Stops people from kicking you because their buddy just logged in and they'd rather have him instead of you.

CT raids are ridiculously easy.

If a few people being carried are genuinely slowing you down, then step up your own game.

It's the principle of the thing. I don't exist to carry lazy people. Neither does anyone else. If I see someone that's just afk'ing and not putting in any effort toward clearing the content, I'll do everything in my power to get rid of them so that we can potentially get someone that's actually going to give half a shit about the other 23 people in the raid.

If the entire raid decided they wanted a carry and just stood around, we wouldn't really get anywhere, would we?

Except someone bad in Sastasha can actually slow you down somewhat.

The reason they made the large-group raids in this game the easier ones is precisely so that slackers won't be a real hindrance.

ANd then they get their gear and do the same thing in the next 24 man. Why are we rewarding bad behaviour? If the people slacking was actually causing alliances to lose, people would shape up pretty quick if they wanted to get that level 120 gear.

This is all server/data dependant. If bone dragon wipes raid once its gonna be a bad AND slow run. That is a glaring indication.
