Lay of the Land

This is probably asked a lot but I can't find the answer so I'm asking it again:

Is there a way to get Lay of the Land to point to a different type of node? It's pointing to quarry nodes and I want mining nodes. I looked in the log and the map says it has both kinds so I'm not sure where to go to find the other kind when all I'm getting is the first kind.

Just kidding! Seriously, though, Lay of the Land and Lay of the Land II have pretty limited utility. While they are decent for finding points for the first time while you're trying to level, they tend to be pretty terrible when it come to trying to find older points that you want to mine again for whatever reason. You pretty much just have to remember where the nodes are. Your Gathering Log will tell you roughly what region of the zone you can find them in, but often those regions are pretty huge, like Bentbranch in the Central Shroud, which covers like a third of an already-huge map.

Just keep looking around, and you'll find the points you want eventually!
