I can't be the only one excited for machinist?!

From the moment I saw the class announced I was super incredibly excited for the machinist and their playstyle.

However I have in game and on various forums not seen much hype at all for them, how come?

Most people I see/talk to are going crazy over AST or DRK but not many people are seeming to talk about the machinist!

Personally, im not going to touch mch at all because I typically prefer the 'medieval fantasy' aspect of the game with armours and weapons and magic etc

Mch's modern motif doesn't appeal to me in the same way i dislike the ironworks sets right now (fortunately I don't raid or do lots of end game content), which I have gotten none to date.

thank god, im not the only one who thinks this way, though with that said i'll end up leveling it up at some point just to have everything level capped

Not to be a nag or anything, but the Machinist specifically draws from a category of Infantrymen most commonly referred to as the Musketeer. These types of Soldiers date back all the way to the Ming Dynasty of China (circa 1368-1644). The most famous Musketeers of all time however were the French "Musketeers of the Guard" (1622), from whom the famous story "The Three Musketeers" was inspired!

To say that the Machinist does not draw upon the "Medieval Fantasy" aspect of the game is totally and completely false.

Then there is the fact that the Final Fantasy Series as a whole has featured just about every version of the Steam Punk flavor you can think of. Steam Punk itself (which is what the Machinist class is likely to largely be flavored after) really got its start in Final Fantasy in the game Final Fantasy V, but it reached its logical evolutional peak in Final Fantasy VI, which was about as Steam Punk as you can get and a game which the entire Garlean Empire in this game is based upon.

I'm pretty sure when most people say Medieval Fantasy, they're really thinking Tolkien Fantasy.

Even then, read The Silmarillion, that stuff is crazy.

I wanted to play this class as soon as I saw it as well. And once I finished catching up with the story I decided to start farming poetic tomes to gear it.

I like it and I'll give it a try most definitely then once I've got both Summoner and Machinist to 60 I'll see which I like better to be my main.
