I can't be the only one excited for machinist?!

Oh, I'm pretty sure the next job will be a caster. It's now the only role that hasn't had any reinforcements since launch. Wonder which one they'll go for. Given Ishgard's geographical proximity with Sharlayan, maybe we'll get something awesome from there.

I really do want to play Machinist-- I had an Engineer in GW2, so I always liked the idea of the class. Problem is, I just came back two weeks ago after a year hiatus and spent quite a bit of time grinding Ninja from scratch to (currently) ilvl 92. Not sure if I want to go through that again, even if we start from 30. :P

Since I have the Zeta for Ninja, I might as well get it to 60, even if it's on the back burner for Dragoon/Dark Knight. That being said, I should put all of those accessories to work from Ninja on to other things, and I hate singing. The only natural choice is Machinist, which I honestly can't wait to try out. It may be the first time in a long time that I have a ranged DPS alt. That, and I can finally put to use all that sweet archer gear that I can't use because LolBard

I already have a full Auroral set waiting for my machinist and I capped poetics at 2k yesterday to get an augmented magitek rifle and some other fun stuff. Still want to know what'll happen with the tomestones though, or if they're being left as they are. Just feels odd that soldiery's been around since 2.2.

But.. Poetics? Why would you use soldiery for the gear since poetics exist? Also mostlikely there'll be new tomestones/some other way to get new gear at 60 so those gears will just be a temporary stepping stone for the better gear, so I don't really get the fuss with people saving up the tomestones

Because I have two other jobs (WAR and SCH) to maintain that I've used about 3k poetics on recently. I'll switch the machinist gear to poetics ASAP, the auroral set is just so it has something. I've always passed aiming gear because one of my best friends mains BRD, so I don't have a lot to work with. xD

But yeah, I'll get an aug magitek rifle with the poetics and probably an ironworks chest or something to quickly get the machinist into a usable state.

They did actually announce that there will be not 1, but 2 new forms of tomestones. The first will be Tomestones of Law, which will have no cap, and 4 weeks after launch, Tomestones of Esoterics will be added, and will have the usual weekly cap. Poetics will likely become uncapped when HW launches, and Soldiery will more than likely be discontinued with the usual trade in option for whatever soldiery you have left.
