They lose durability they don't break in the sense that the weapon/armor is destroyed ever even if you fight with durability 0 items for 2 months straight.

Looks like there's a lot of minor tweaks alongside the bigger features chocobos and beastman strongholds.

I hope that'll mean that they're almost done adjusting the little stuff and can focus on bigger items like Player Poll 1st options.

actually the ability to skip the ships and boats is an option they said you can skip or enjoy the ride. but it may change depending on what they do between now and launch of 1.19

I think after the first couple of rides, and taking in the scenery, it'll wear off quickly; however, for some odd reason I never become less fascinated by the lightning storms on the ferry...shiny things?
