Can we get an update on Steam pre-orders for Heavensward?

When will the digital pre-orders begin for the Steam version of Heavensward?
We're working with Valve to launch pre-orders for the digital standard edition and digital Collector's Editions sometime in May.

Is there an update on this? It is no longer May by my reckoning and several of my fellow Steam friends are growing concerned that we've been forgotten over here. Even if it's just to say "we're working on it," or even if you could list a possible reason for delay. We'd like to give you our money and get our early-access situated as soon as possible.

Outside of there being a sale or f2p, Ill never understand why people play MMOs on steam. You have not been forgotten though, there is no precedent for this, even if they let you preorder on the 18th it doesnt matter. Preordering now will not speed up time. And they cant run out of digital copies.

I think its more about the lack of communication on steam/valve's end that is irritating people.

Precisely this. I'm also concerned that I may be out of town on business and not be able to pre-order and activate my license keys in time if they decide to do it on the very last day before early access starts.

Does it matter? SE can say.. we are working with valve, its mid process. And ppl will still be impatient and thinking they are going to get left out. It was the same with PSN, there is a process for adding items to PSN, they told people this, and they were still freaking out because they couldnt preorder 3 months in advance.

Why cant steam users preorder any physical copy, get the early access code, apply it through mog station, then apply the registration code from the physical copy when they receive it through mog station or steam itself?(there is a place to register non steam purchases in the bottom left of the steam client) Steam will update your client with HW content regardless, all you need is early access code applied to your account to use it. Then the final registration code before the 27th or w/e early access ends. Does anyone know if this works?

You are unable to use the non-steam expansion with the Steam client.
Steam users are pretty much locked into Steam purchases only.
They can register a copy of the game for the PS3 and PS4, but not the basic PC client as Steam counts as that.

I think they're asking if you could use an EA code by pre-ordering any platform copy and add it to the steam account just so you're set for EA, then upgrade to the actual expansion using steam when it's available. (Early Access accounts are basically expansion trials until the actual expansion key is added)

I went through the pre-order code redemption process and it actually asks you to select your platform you want the key on. (IIRC steam was not a choice, just PC - not sure if they are merged together in that respect. if steam is a separate platform in this respect, it won't work anyways)

However, this would mean you would have to buy the game twice unless of course you did some "shady" stuff which might get your account banned anyways if it is traced.
