Sleipnir Useless in Heavensward?

It's the point of stuff being purchased off the mogstation suddenly being useless. If I buy an outfit off there, does it suddenly not become glamourable? The same goes with the mounts. It makes no sense that people should spend money on top of their sub for items that are only useful only in ARR areas. Had I (and a lot of people) known this, I would have saved my money. They made fat chocobo a priority for flying, so why not the $25 horse?

Hey, personally I think it would be a great thing if they upgraded slepnir. I won't stand in the way of it. They very may well do it.

I'm just saying it's not the norm. Even if like the overwhelming majority thought it was a top priority for it to fly, if you watched the live letters, the dev team says they are only upgrading land mounts to fly slowly and not everything is getting upgraded. For instance they giggled about giving the gobbue mount a jetpack (it was a suggestion from the forums I guess, I mean, you had to work hard to get that mount too, it takes weeks of farming, why not that too right?). But yea, they aren't giving the gobbue mount a jetpack, atleast not soon.

The slepnir mount probably has better odds of getting on the short list of being upgraded to fly. I just was saying the two things: 1) It's not the norm (not all mounts will get upgraded) and 2)It might be a while if they do.

If it means anything, since this is something you apparently have and care about. I hope for your sake it does get upgraded though?

I don't get the concept people have in this game that Can't fly =/= useless. I have sleipnir, and I use him CONSTANTLY when I'm out of HW zones, which is quite frequent. It's ok for not all mounts to fly. It does NOT devalue them, it does not make them worthless, useless, or anything else. This mentality that EVERYTHING HAS TO DO EVERYTHING seriously needs to go. Worse off, the devs are pandering to it by making mounts that should NOT fly be able to fly. There is ZERO reason for a warbear, warlion, and panther to fly. ZERO. Ther ewas ZERO reason for the adamantoise to fly. It's just making things incredibly lame in my opinion.

those of us that bought Sleipnir got our money's worth. They don't have to continue to cater to you for your 20.00 purchase over a year ago. imo flying mounts look ugly and awkward on the ground (Twintania, Midgardsomr, especially) so I gladly use my sleipnir in ARR zones cuz he still looks amazing.

Wether they make it fly or not I'm still gona use it when I can't fly (like ARR area's & Diadem pre-flight) & yes in Nordic mythology it is noted as being able to ride on "land, sea & sky" (also listed as the fastest horse) but its also listed as being a "Shamanistic Horse" or "Spirit Horse" so not really real yet somehow still real (can take u to the land of the dead & the mail box down the street... which sounds both badass & annoying I mean what if u accidentaly ride into the afterlife then have to ride all the way back out just to get to something that was 20mins away on foot in reality, Odin definetly got the time to dick around like that but us mortals do not lmao)
