In lore and every other final fantasy Sleiphnir can fly. I dont see why people are calling it stupid for wanting this one to fly.

Sry for a double post. Thats why sleiphnir is SUPPOSED to have 6 legs. He does in the other final fantasies and in lore. 2 for land 2 for sea and 2 for air.

*cough* in lore (as in Norse mythology), Sleipnir actually has eight legs. Not six.

Personally if the Adamantoise can fly and I guess all 3 tank mounts are going to then Sleipnir can too.

I'm fairly sure that anything sold on the mogstation has the same kind of expiration date that any content has in this game as far as relevancy. Sure it's just a fancy frills thing but it is a land mount, it was sold as a land mount, etc.

By all rights they could just sell new flying mounts from now on. It's not like they made all of the ground mounts fly. Most ground mounts can't fly and there are no plans to upgrade all of them (it would be a bit silly for EVERYTHING to fly).

That said, slepnir is still for sale so who knows, you might get it flying someday. I really doubt its a top priority for them at the moment though. After all, as I'm writing this, I notice they added a new flying bird to mogstation for us to buy. It seems in better interest for them to just keep adding newer mounts. Cause well, why upgrade one someone already paid for when could release a new one that they would just buy to replace the old one? Capitalism! yay.... It makes sense though.

Existing items getting upgraded is more the exception than the norm. Getting new items is much more common.

That's very poor for business.What incentive do we have now to buy mounts off there? "Hey guys, next expansion goes underwater. The magiteks you purchased won't be able to swim, but please still buy them!" That makes zero sense. People aren't going to buy mounts that they cannot use everywhere.

Then are all mounts going to swim then? I really don't understand. Are ponies going to swim under water?

Maybe I just don't understand. I think it would be funny if next expansion was underwater and suddenly all the mounts could swim underwater. I'd imagine there would be new sea turtles (after all box turtles aren't aquatic), sea horses, fish and shark mounts instead however.

Maybe someone can explain to me how all mounts would suddenly swim and make it make sense to me. maybe I'm getting too old.

It's the point of stuff being purchased off the mogstation suddenly being useless. If I buy an outfit off there, does it suddenly not become glamourable? The same goes with the mounts. It makes no sense that people should spend money on top of their sub for items that are only useful only in ARR areas. Had I (and a lot of people) known this, I would have saved my money. They made fat chocobo a priority for flying, so why not the $25 horse?
