There will be a lot of ARR mounts that won't fly. That's just how it goes.
Most beast tribe reward mounts, the coeurl, Fenrir...
But don't forget, these mounts are still faster on-ground than flying mounts. And players can't fly in the new zones right off the bat. But yes, I have a feeling non-flying mounts will probably be useless after players access the flying ability in all new zones, but I do hope I'm wrong somehow and there ends up being a location or two where flying is impossible.
On a related note, if flying mounts are slower on-ground, does this mean things like the Ponies, Chocobos and ADS will have reduced ground speeds seeing as they're turning into flying mounts? Not sure if it's been clarified.

Yoshi had said in a interview or Live letter before, that the ground mounts would be getting a speed buff in the 2.0 areas. I'm not sure if in 3.0 areas that speed buff will persist, I bet it will. It had something to do with how much easier it is to get around in the flying areas, and how it seemed unfair to have the old areas not get some kind of buff. I know I saw that stated, but I can't recall what the speed buff was gonna be, something like 2.0x-2.5x faster or something.
Also did they say if the two seater mounts will be flying as well?

Nowhere, and it will probably fly at some point. Making the primal ponies fly was already giving me the "Are you serious"-face, though, wondering when they announce the flying goobbue mount. But my real question is, why would anyone pay 16.20€ for a mount?

I don't think I saw anyone else state this, but if you run on the ground with a flying mount they will only go at 90% speed while normal mounts go 100%. So if for some reason you need to run and not fly, Sleipnir will be faster than any flying mount.
They better make the ponies be able to fly, cause they made a freaking turtle fly.
While I didn't like the turtle flying, at least it was in reference to something to serve as comedic value or whatever. But now, Fenrir, a normal hoarhound is going to have the ability to fly using magic, along with a lion, bear and coeurl gaining the ability of flight. There's zero reason why magical horses shouldn't be able to fly at this point.
I would assume you toggle flying on/off. When off you would, I assume, get the full landspeed.

I paid for it. All I can say is I love that s$%t. The music is awesome, and I enjoy it. Why did I pay for it? Because I love the game and I am happy to literally throw money at it. Plus, as a social experiment it is fun to see how different people react to it and what could lead them to such reactions. Happy to grind a dungeon a couple of hundred times for a mount, but equally happy to pay for one.
