Nostalgia comes up, when i think about windows as a side programm to DOS; my first PC even came from Packard Bell, who did a extra software overlay which looked like a living room.
how you felt like a "real hacker" when you edited your autoexec.bat and config.sys to load only necessary drivers to get enough High-Mem free to run your latest game.
heck i even did write a start menu with an entry for every game, with optimal settings, and autostarting the game...
