Old news and quite wrong. The only costs for Win10 are if you are currently using a bootleg version, or if you have a registered version of Windows from Vista on up to the current 8.1 and wait a year or more to upgrade. The subscription/charge rumors were rumors and nothing more.To those who are considering windows 10, I would suggest caution on such a decision. It is self-proclaimed as a 'freemium operating system', meaning many features will be locked unless you decide to pay extra.
You've heard of pay to win? This is pay to Function.
I for one will wait and see what is and isn't free, before I decide to upgrade.
After the free year, or if you buy a new version, it will be what they market it as.

That's 100% incorrect. For the first year, the upgrade from Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 will be free; similar to how for 6 months after its release, the upgrade for Windows 8 was $40. After that year, users will need to pay to upgrade, but there is no subscription or "IAP" you need to buy for the OS to work.To those who are considering windows 10, I would suggest caution on such a decision. What he is saying is that, windows 10 will be Free, but it will be the last windows, after that there will be only upgrades like how google chrome works (there's no Chrome 1,2,3,....)That's 100% incorrect. Then, Microsoft (the new CEO want it that way) may charge you for "upgrade", sure you still have windows 10... but you're gonna pay for "extra" like he said.

Yes, thank you, I am aware of the new strategy for Windows. However, there is a large group of people who believe that after the first year, you will need a subscription to use the OS, which has been clarified. What he is saying is that, windows 10 will be Free, but it will be the last windows, after that there will be only upgrades like how google chrome works (there's no Chrome 1,2,3,....)

Stop spreading bullkupos. There is no such thing as "fremium" OS. I don't know where you get such inaccurate infos. Stop reading tin foil websites and stick to the official Microsoft sources. Windows 10 is a free upgrade for only 1 year from the day it will start to those who own a legal W8/8.1/7 copies. All the rest must pay a full price of the OS as always. MS will treat W10 as a service and this means more frequent security and feature updates for free just like all the previous Windows Updates. To those who are considering windows 10, I would suggest caution on such a decision. Well... not exactly.
Even people who pirated Win7 or Win8 can get the free upgrade. They just won't have a "genuine" license.

We are upgrading all qualified PCs, genuine and non-genuine, to Windows 10...even though pirates will be able to auto-upgrade to Windows 10, the version they get will still be considered unlicensed. So there's that.Anyone with a qualified device can upgrade to Windows 10, including those with pirated copies of Windows.
Actually, this information is outdated and Microsoft have since clarified that non-genuine Windows users will not be entitled to the free upgrade, but instead can opt to pay for the update to Windows 10, retaining all of their information and files from their non-genuine version of Windows.Well... not exactly.

So there's that.

Pretty sure they stated that even illegal copies of it will get the upgrade, they'll just keep getting that ungenuine prompt lolStop spreading bullkupos. There is no such thing as "fremium" OS. Will it eventually make you register? I installed on new machine when old one died. After using for a month or two I had to call MS and verify it since I used same license as old comp.
