Is it time for SE to give PLDs a good bump in terms of DPS?

    Here goes my thing.

I know that PLD's main tanking strategy is to mitigate as much damage as possible but it will only take you long enough until you exhaust all your defensive cooldowns and you're as vulnerable as a bug. Shield Oath alleviates this problem by making you take reduced damage but at a very hefty price of reducing your already nonexistent damage potential. I know Defiance also reduces WAR's DPS but they have means to bypass it, not to mention that swinging in between stances for them is trivial. I have yet to learn how to WAR by building my confidence in tanking... hence I started as a PLD. As I watch videos of PLD and WAR PoVs, the value of WARs outshine that of PLDs as this game is mostly dodging red zones which trumps reduced damage taken, any day.

Taking reduced damage per hit is one thing. Speeding up the fight is another as you literally reduce the number of hits your enemy has to do. If this trend continues, PLDs will sit in the back burner for having the worst damage-dealing capabilities.

Now as the title states, is it time for SE to give some love to PLDs in the damage-dealing department?
