Just some info here, the Poll only allowed 30 different answers so I looked at several lists of recurring FF Jobs to pick the choices. We're getting Gunner and Time Mage, and we HAVE Thief.
They're called Machinist and Astrologian, and it's called Rogue/Ninja.
Yoshida & Co. already gave their rationale for why Rogue is just a different name for Thief. The fact that ROG/NIN have all of the "iconic" thief skills really should have been tip off about this. Trick Attack, Sneak/Hide, Mug, Sneak Attack...all normally thief abilities. There's no use in adding a class that would be redundant on conception.

I also want Samurai to be a DPS. But judging by the "coolness" factor, and how popular it's likely to be, it wouldn't surprise me if it was a Tank to try to encourage more players to fill that role.

Red Mage is just such classic FF, it's inevitable eventually. Just a matter of how long!

Well I mean besides that it's not terribly difficult to stat out. You just make an INT-based class that uses rapiers. The main problem is people thinking "They need to fit into one role and red mage is all three". Just make it a melee/ranged deeps that uses INT as a main stat for both, and you're gold.
