Kona, actually I made this thread after reading one of your posts lol, it was kind of inspirational to make the All Stars. Rofl. Not in a bad way either, We disagree on some points but agree on others you would be like a middleman that brings the two extremes together lol. The glue that binds the book to to cover basically, anyways actually yes several of the team members have posted in here already. Including my boy Filthy D (we in same LS on Wutai) who loves to bust my chops on forums whenever he sees me post.

In reference to what Eekiki said, It was kind of a stab. I personally got a long with Kilta when I understood her/his broken English. Actually I do see the reference relationship but maybe in a different way. Basically meaning your posts I generally agree with or disagree with unlike some that I 90% of the time disagree with. Actually to name a few people who would make appearances in our All Star shell would be MeowieWowie, Azury, and some trollols like Gifthorse. Also Sonic, Reinhart the Subligar King and more than a handful of others well known Lodestone posters.

P.S. If they have a MyLittlePony Sig then they have automatic acceptance.

    Anime post from other thread:

Again I have to disagree with the whole art style thing it also helps if you are watching the simulcast in 720p and also understand the art style is done that way on purpose. I guess in general you just don't care much for that type of anime even though I would never compare Naruto to DBZ. Bleach now is a different story and imho is more DBZ like by 100fold compared to Naruto.

What you call lazy is actually just the artists style of drawing and for me anyways when they are fighting adds the element of speed and precision and adds that much needed "Immersion" we was talking about in this thread. I was just teasing you before when I was saying you could not like Naruto, everyone has their preferences when it comes to Anime except me. I literally love all Anime, but I do have favorites of art styles over others and I actually just started watching Chobits and man the way the artist draws his characters eyes drives me nuts, lol. They look so lifeless, but I have only just made it a couple episodes into the show so I really don't know what to expect yet in the series.

Btw I guess I can understand what you mean a little but I think what is boils down to is you like Anime that has a present day real look to it, Animes that take place in our world and not a fantasy world as much or one that resembles something abit more realistic. Naruto has a totally fantasy world that has no similarities of reality. I could be wrong but it does seem likely for that to be the case XD

Oh, speaking of Bleach, never seen, and never intend to. Anime that I hear too many english-speaking people talk about usually turns out crap, where as the ones that truly take off in japan (Such as Haruhi Suzumiya) tend to be exceptionally fantastic and easy to watch repeatedly.

I am actually from the U.K and english-speaking also btw, but I've found that what 'normal' people in my country like in anime and what I like in anime have a tendency to differ drastically.

Also as for me preferring 'realistic' anime. I thoroughly enjoyed Afro Samurai, the Gundam series, Gurren Lagaan, FLCL (<3) and many others that have very fantasy/sci-fi fantastical styles about them. As a rule I'm not too picky, I just don't like watching anime where everyone stands around glaring at each other all the time, if I wanted that I'd pause a picture of Revvy from Black Lagoon and attempt to do the voice-over myself.

I don't know about Afro Samurai but both those other Anime take place in a realistic world. Both FLCL and any of the Gundam Series, Gurren Lagan doesn't but it fits the post apocalyptic world so it isn't too far off base. When I say realistic I don't mean as in fantasy story/plot etc, I meant the world that the Anime takes place in. Seems like most the ones you named that I know of seem to take place in a realistic world of sorts. I don't know how much Naruto you have watched but that doesn't really happen as bad as you think, atleast those parts are filled with dialogue that build story and purpose instead of charging a spirit bomb for 10 episodes. BTW Bleach is really good and is still one of the top 3 on going Anime in Japan. When I went to Japan back when I was 19, now 26 the three most popular Anime are still the same three I see over there and here. Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach. Bleach doesn't do a whole lot of standing around and talking when they are fighting but there is so many filler episodes here and there but going into an Anime that you are years behind (which doesn't usually take too long to catch up especially if you sit and watch like 10-20 episodes in a row like I do)

You should try and open your mind a little and give those Anime another shot you might be surprised, the reason I like Naruto is the fights are amazing when they are breaking it out and each character has so much depth to them and their abilities and fighting styles and personalities really bring me into it. Naruto is more of a Anime all about the story unfolding and getting caught off guard when you are watching it. Also as you said, it has a lot more to it than you think especially once it reaches the Shiipuuden level. How far did you actually get in Naruto? Again I understand that there is a difference in opinions and what not and likes, but the show is a lot deeper than you are giving it credit for. Everyone I got to sit down and watch this show for a prolonged time even people who don't like Anime are hooked. The story is deep and the characters are too.

Bleach is really good in its own right but has the DBZ effect which you would probably find annoying, I recommend watching the first 100 episodes roughly and then say if you do or don't like it.

One Piece is honestly my favorite Anime right now it crazy insane world and characters have me waiting very impatiently each week for a new episode to see what happens next. Plus for some reason I just love the art in One Piece, everything about it is awesome. Unlike you I watch mainstream Anime because usually if the masses like it then there has to be a reason for it especially in Anime. That doesn't mean I don't watch other stuff, I have watched more Anime than I can name and will likely check out some of the ones you mentioned. Between Netflix, Crunchyroll paid account and Animefreak.tv I have pretty much all Anime at my disposal to watch. Actually when you made the NHK reference a couple days ago I watched the whole thing in 2 days. Anyways I think I lost the point I was trying to reach lol so I will just post this as is.

Sorry for nearly getting TL;DR on you, I just keep adding to the post.

Also to continue my post spamming rhetorick (XD)

Anime I tend to adore the most have a tendency to draw out an emotion in me very strongly and sharply.

Watching Black Lagoon makes me laugh and get a bloodlust fever.
Watching Chobits, Saikano and Elfen Lied can make me cry with sadness.
Watching Gundam series, Evangelion and Deathnote can make me go into a state of deep thought, sometimes for hours on end.
Welcome To The NHK affects me quite deeply, I can relate to the main character as I sometimes get the same kind of paranoia about going into the outside world, and often try to find excuses to stay indoors. I know it's not healthy for me, the anime shows me this, but I don't mind.

An example of what I mean by these strong emotional outburst I could actually use Gungrave for.
Even though his friend killed him, Grave constantly tracks down this 'friend' but never kills him, he gets the opportunity plenty of times but never pulls the trigger.
At the end both of them are laying on the floor of the diner they both used to hang out at, having been shot multiple times and both slowly bleeding to death. Graves friend holds Graves gun to his own head and tries to force Graves finger to pull the trigger, Grave resists, and his friend shouts at him "WHY? Why won't you just kill me?"
Grave replies: "I keep making the same mistake, I keep choosing my friend over what is right."

When Grave said this I was crying for at least an hour, what he said was profound and amazing. He would rather choose someone he still thinks of as a true friend even after what that friend had done to him, over exacting revenge for what his friend had done to him and many other people. A means of saying "True friendship will not and can not ever die."

A lot of people wouldn't have reacted like I did, granted a lot of people would have seen it as wishy washy nonesense, and yes I am about to use the 'i' word, but I get deeply immersed into anime that has a strong and tightly fitted plot, so much so that I can imagine and even experience the emotions the characters are going through. this is why I love these styles of anime over things like Naruto, which are focused more on making people laugh than bringing out emotional responses.
