Really? Even though you still have to log in using your SE credentials anyway? That sucks. Why did SE botch the Steam version like that, when there are no issues between the PS3/PS4 and regular PC versions of the game?I wish you were right, but you're not. If you buy a different platform, your account is still locked to Steam -- you need to start a new account on a new platform, thus you lose your old characters/account. (Or more exactly, they're still stuck on the Steam account.) You cannot just buy for a different platform and log on through what had been a Steam account.
"Strategy? Spacing? I just keep punching until I hit something."
Honestly though dont worry se hasn't forgotten about steam yet i think.
Its just like the ps4 digital download ppl, freaking out and making a bunch of threads.
They didn't.
Most things from steam are like this.
No they're not, there's plenty of other games, MMOs included, where you buy them on Steam but it doesn't make a difference from then on. It's entirely down to the fact that Square decided to treat Steam as an entirely separate licence, and since you can't have two licences for the same platform on the same service account, you can't add a retail key to a Steam account.
I hope they change this soon. As I too want to get my characters away from steam Asap. Not only am I displeased with how slow it's taking us to get to the pre-orders. I'm also worried about later on if steam will even continue to push out expansions.
