    Immortal Flames cheating on Aether data center?

    I've been seeing some weird stuff the last few days in Frontlines, but just a few minutes ago I have seen a PLD who seemed to be cheating for sure.

    I was playing as NIN, and there was just me and this enemy PLD.
    I was at full health, i use 3 fending accessories, maybe i even had a Stoneskin or Adloq, don't remember.

    But I was trashed by this PLD in 4-5 seconds.
    a PLD. alone.

    I always watch the red text which show the ability names that are hitting me, and it was all PLD stuff (Circle of Scourn, Fast Blade, ...) with many, many numbers with no skill name floating up, which I understand are auto-attacks.

    Reading the battle log after that, I saw something like
    <Enemy person> hits you for 400 dmg
    -> You take 200dmg
    -> You take 210dmg
    -> You take 205dmg
    -> You take 300dmg
    (Numbers were not exactly these but they're close)

    And then again, the same stuff
    <Enemy person> hits you for 400 dmg
    -> You take 200dmg
    -> You take 210dmg
    -> You take 205dmg
    -> You take 300dmg

    And yet again, a 3rd time. And a 4th time.

    All this in less than 5 seconds.

    Reading the battle log, I hit this person 3 times, while it hit me "4" (or 20?).

    Now, I ask, how is this even possible for a PLD level synched to 80 to deal 1k damage every second or so?
    Is there some explanation to this stuff I saw in the battle log, showing 4 extra lines of damage taken for every ability or auto-attack this person uses?

    Or was this person cheating? If that's the case, have you guys seen stuff like this happening as well? I reported this person using the in-game report, cuz I'm quite convinced this person wasa cheating, but I wonder if Square Enix even cares about this...

    I'm not saying it was NOT a cheat, but I will tell: its possible under some circumstances:

    - Paladin sword oath makes AA hit "twice".
    - You stood right in front of him the whole fight.
    - Paladin Alliance/GC got haste buff
    - Paladin Alliance/GC got dps buff.
    - That said buffs can stack
    - You got Full Swing debuff

    It happened to me once:
    Monk started chasing me after getting 2x dps node buff and 1x haste node buff. Pacified me with Axe kick (and got GL3) and PEW-PEW-PEW and killed me into 6-8 secs, probably using every single oGCD.

    I must say english is not my primary language, so if you find some grammatical or syntax error, please tell me and I will edit my post. Thank you!!

    I'm aware Sword Oath hits "twice", but all other skills, like full swing, would be a different line in the battle log, right?
    With a clear line " you suffer the effects of full swing ", which was not the case...
    Also, they didn't have stacked buffs. Maybe 1 dmg up buff, if that at all.

    Does having a dmg up buff makes another extra line appear on the battle log for every damage you take/inflict, just like with the Sword Oath auto-attacks?
    I never thought that was the case, but then again, I never really paid much attention to it till now.

    The Immortal Flames is the only true home of a paladin. Let me tell you the difference...

    "Most were orphans... street urchins as kids that were left to fend for themselves. Not abandoned willingly, but taken of their parents by the Garleans thirst for blood and power. The bastard sons of a great city thrown into turmoil by the circumstance of its greatness. From age 12-18 their lives is a test of survival. Either fend for yourselves on the streets, or fight to the death in the coliseum. Those are his choices. Not one is more dangerous than the other. And if the Twelve will it, that he make it to manhood surviving the life as a Gladiator.. then the path to becoming a true paladin is within grasp. The Paladins rite of passage transforms a wild, defenseless and weak animal... into a courageous, loyal and true protector of a city that once left him to die a horrible meaningless death.". -Raubahn

    I know of a paladin that can kill a ninja less than 5 seconds. Immortal Flames is just on another level compared to the other GC.

    This data center sounds like reverse world to me.

    Just poking the dummy in wolves den. I get 4 hits in between gcds depending on how i am timing stuff. With sield oath you get hit hit hit with sword oath you get 2 damage notifications hit and dummy takes. What really is amazing with the level sync that the auto attack damage is so high. I know ninjas are squishy but auto attack for 200+ at level sync. Must have been a good gear set.

    Full swing: Increase target's dmg taken by 10% + dot. Lv 3 = 20%
    Glory slash: 170 (200 when lv3) potency cone aoe.

    Both off GCD, so yea a pld can stack those back to back really fast. And also, what the fuck @ thread title. You feel ONE pld cheats and suddenly ALL IMMORTAL FLAMES cheat on Aether ????

    You might have written this post while angry and not really in command of all the nuances of the english language, but you're implying a whole class of people using a single instance.

    A paladin can absolutely solo someone in 4-5 seconds, they have ridiculous burst if you know how to use it. The downside is they use up a lot of cooldowns in the process and then basically hit like a wet noodle for 90-150 seconds (until all their cooldowns come back). They have 5 off-cooldown moves (full swing, spirits within, circle of scorn, glory slash, mercy stroke) plus fight or flight (+30% attack buff) and can also use a x-pot of STR (+20% STR). If you were at something like 90% hp and they used everything they had, you are going to die unless you purify that full swing at the right time, get a heal, or use second wind/recouperate. This is without factoring in any buffs from nodes in slaughter, if you do that it's even more crazy.

    If you recognize the paladin burst you can counter it appropriately, and the paladin is just left there flapping in the wind. If you ever get a chance to play wolves den as a healer, you'll get a lot more experience both performing bursts and recognizing when a burst is coming, the meta gets pretty interesting.

    I personally know at least a couple paladins on flames capable of pulling this off, and I'm guessing you probably ran into one of them.

    Experienced something similar with nin in 72 slaughter. He killed me in what feels like 1 second. At the very max 3 secs. I know it probably feels quicker than what it actually is, but it basically happened in an instant. No LB.

    A few weeks ago it happened on Chaos as an adder nin camped our OP. I HPed went for tele at OP on my mount, alone, then (as always with hidden nin) suddenly heavied, health drop below 2000 (max 4500ish), 1 sec later dead.

    I was certain there was more than 1 who did the deed, but if there were they somehow managed to conseal themselves pretty good. Besides no one reported more than "adder nin camper". Someone even called him a "????ing cheater" lol. Iirc he had about 20 kills and 0 deaths. I only wish I saved the battle log to see.

    There have been other times I've scratched my head but that time in particular stands out.

    Quick deaths I can tolerate If I get zerged, other than that doesn't seem plausible.

    Well, moral of the story is next time someone beats you in Frontlines, just accuse their GC of cheating on the forums and then you can learn their technique!
