Stat tradeoff/customisation for DPS

In the former it won't be optional--it will become mandatory because people will call you bad if you don't have it. In the latter it will be suboptimal and people will call you bad for doing it.

There is choice available. Party composition is one. No one is saying you are bad if you don't have x y z job in your party, many setups are respected even if some job is better at some fight.

Except people will math out for which classes/compositions of raid group this is a DPS increase or decrease and where it falls off. Just like they've done with BLMs and piety.

You might not have a choice with party composition. Blm and pie is easy, but with a whole party someone will figure out when it is better given a set of conditions that your party may or may not be able to achieve, or want to achieve. For example, the difference in strats used by JP and NA groups. It is viable to use either but some find one easier than the other, or just like how it is done one way.
Or, it becomes a matter of choice like how they say thunder 1 and 2 are about the same.




I also want to add that sometimes it comes down to not "why aren't you doing it the better way?" but "why aren't you doing it my way?"
