Onion Knight And The Allagan Empire?

I was looking at the discription of the Onion Doublet today and noticed that it said that the doublet was made to look like the doublet worn by the Onion Knights of the fallen Allagan Empire. I was thinking that it would be awsome if they added Onion Knight as a class/job later and to unlock it you had to use the power of the echo to go back in time to when the Allagan Empire was still around and learn from watching the Onion Knights in action. What do you guys think?

I also wonder since it probably one the nations that were defeated by the Garlean's that in the future we might liberate the Allagan Empire's people and the Onion Knights will be able to rebuild themselves after said event. Sadly we will have to wait and see what they do for future content's such as this >.<!

Aren't the onion knights those weird little black guys that wonder around with giant bulb shaped helmets on?

Interesting idea though. There is time-travel already so it's not like it wouldn't fit into the lore.

Allagan never met with Garlemand, they exist approximately 1,000 years apart. Allagan was destroyed during the 6th Umbral, so that should be linked with 12 Archons or Primal.

Geez this game has so much hidden lore lol, there is so much in this game that I dont really know and its fun to learn new stuff. @Konachibi: Ya the Onion Knights are the ones with the goofy looking helmets :P

Oooo, I wondered about those. I kept expecting one of them to come leaping out in a black mage outfit during the Ul'dah opening cut-scene, since they have the same round glowing eyes.

from my perspective... sadly it's just a call back to the puppet/mammet's that puppetmaster class used in XI >.<, but they probably have a deeper reason I just haven't found it yet.

Well in FFXI they were used for the Puppetmaster job, they fought alongside the Puppetmaster, but I have no idea what they do in FFXIV lol.
