Starting out would like to know which servers are most populated

I'm thinking about purchasing the game. I would like to know which servers are most populated? I've heard Balmung is good in some older threads? Basically just want the most active and populated server.

That would be Balmung, BUT keep in mind that you'll have issues just managing to make a character, and items tend to be much more expensive than other servers. You can find players perfectly fine on other servers, no need to cram everyone into a single server.

Thanks! I hear ya but I'd much rather be stuck on a crowded server than a dead server. I've been stuck with that in other games and now I"m OCD about it. Also, if things sell higher, more gold for me! Unless of course it's not a balanced economy.

Actually, I have been on three other servers, and the items on Balmung are no where near as pricey as places like Leviathan.

Pricy MB is actually good for a new player because if the MB prices are all cheap, then it means economy is dead, no room for any new players to compete in.

Of course, that all depends on if OP wants to get in that game or not, as MB/crafting is quite optional in this game.

From my experience with other MMOs for the past 6 or so years, I doubt I'll ever pay any attention to trading or give it any thought. Looks like Balmung is locked 24/7 so I don't think I'll be able to make a char there, what are some other good high pop realms?

No server will be locked forever, it lets up during lower congestion periods.
Hyperion is also a rather populated server. Always welcoming new players to my own server!
So is Sargantus I hear. However both have new character restrictions as well due to how popular they are.

You're on Behemoth now, what seems to be the problem? Is there not enough on when you want to be? You have to keep in mind when you're usually on as different servers have different playtimes for others.
