Warlords started rather story intensive at the very start, but once you got out of the intro it was basically very dry bits and pieces, most of the big "fat" of any lore or story was put into the raids, leaving the outside quests incredibly insignificant, leveling happens so fast that most people I know just farmed the "rares" that spawn near constantly for free loot+exp (they spawn every 5-10 mins but only count as a "rare" spawn until you kill it once) and then just kill random monsters/gather herbs/mining nodes until a dungeon unlocked, and then just spammed the dungeon until another popped up etc etc, they only did the bare minimum of quests needed. I'm personally glad FF isn't quite like this, myself.... yet. and yes, it's very true. What story on WoW that isn't in raids, is in the books they publish. It's just....sad haha
