Unlocking Content

So with people being past old content like Extreme Primals or T5 and T9 for example when are they going to remove the requirement of having to clear them before the next ones are available? My reasoning is this when new players come to the game they have to clear this old content to open the newer content; but then trying to get groups for the old content pretty much never happens unless they just jump into DF. DF as everyone knows 95% of the time doesn't pan out to be a clear ever even with echo. THen the other side you have returning players who also need to clear old content and stuck in the same situation. So with Heavensward coming out are they ever going to get rid of these restrictions?

Also as a side note I think the whole let's do a quest to unlock every single dungeon/trial/new feature is really annoying, it should just become unlocked via reaching a certain level.

that would be boring. It would remove the stories behind those dungeons and trials.
Would you really want the Gilgamesh fight without the Hildibrand story?
Tam Tara hard without the story around Edda?
Shiva without meeting Iceheart?

Yes I would have, because 70% of the time people skip the cutscenes and could care less about the lore of a dungeon they just want to run it for the tomes or drops. The Main scenario is mediocre at best anyways its nothing compared tot he stories of FF7, FF9, or FF10.

And that's depressing. No point in catering the game to illiterate spazzes that cluster together in endgame so much. Also YMMV on story quality. That you consider FF9 a good one is hilarious to me, for example.

Well. FF7 is overall considered the best (by number of people), and sephiroth the most interesting boss/character of the series.
With that in mind, its evident you shouldnt really expect to much from popular opinions. :P

This is part of the problem with the community. Everyone is in such a rush, and players new to content are either forced to skip the story or get locked out of the boss room. The first time I played Castrum Meridianum, I didn't even get to experience any of the boss fights but one because everyone kept pushing ahead instead of waiting for those of us who actually care about the story. The only reason I got into that boss fight was because a healer had accidentally fallen out of the map and it took several minutes before they could maneuver in a way that they could use the return spell. The same thing happened again last night when I ran the final fight of the Hildibrand storyline. Three of us were still in the cutscenes when someone pulled, and because I was standing slightly back further from the entrance, the barrier went up right before I could get in, even though I had skipped the rest of the scene before to rush forward.....

I get that some people have time limits to play, but if that's so then say you need to hurry, or just don't go into the DF for content if you don't have time to play it. Some people actually care about experiencing the story and hate having to be rushed at every turn because there's always that one guy who has no patience......

This game is heavily story driven to start with so lol.
I pick and skim a lot of texts myself but there ARE people here that enjoy the games storyline.
Just because you don't doesn't mean let's kick it to the side.
