Let me see if I can help you get this through your head. They are not going to give you a tool you already have. You have what you want, use it or don't. They're not going to waste time on this charade.
Again I saw that under the sun the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor bread to the wise, nor riches to the intelligent, nor favor to those with knowledge, but time and chance happen to them all.
You mean like they aren't going to give us, say, different loot options, because we already have a loot system in place?
Then you're among the people who could just opt to keep your <se.#> sounds enabled. I, for one, don't need a sound to tell me the tank provoked, because I just go by the visual of their animation. And not all tanks use Provoke macros to begin with, so relying on them isn't going to yield perfect results. The sound effects can be misused but they are very crucial too. If you need to tank swap and you cannot hear the other tanks' Provoke sound effect macro, how much harder is it to remember to swap?
I really need that sound effect on Provoke personally. Yes, it can be annoying with some peoples' macros but it is more useful than annoying.
Having the OPTION to disable them doesn't mean you can't keep everything as it is now if you so desire.

You are "choosing" not to use the option they gave you for such things. You are trying to nitpick the infernal thing into one tiny, insignificant, check box option when system sounds is already there. What on earth do you think macro sounds are? That is the only bloody thing that slide bar affects but you can't be bothered.
As far as loot options, master loot should've been on here from the beginning. Why it wasn't is beyond my understanding. Should've been common sense but I have found a disturbing lack of that when it comes to this game of late.
I've said my peace on the subject and when you don't get what you want because you have it don't pitch a fit. Peace.

Maybe you should get your facts straight before acting condescending, pretending to know what SE will or won't do. "Sound Effects" affects combat and ability sounds, it doesn't do jack about <se.#> sounds. "System Sounds" does get rid of <se.#> sounds, but also of other sounds, such as the signal when you receive a /tell, or the sounds you get when you mouse over or click things.
So let's try this one more time.

So, as you are on tank you are only on the boss in a run the whole time? No Ifrit Extreme for you, where you run to help out on DPS on the nails? Or run with the DPS so you don't get massive damage from the chain? There are times when you are busy on tank and need a sound effect to remind you that it's your turn.
Ever heard of Focus Target? Because that's what I use on the other tank so I can always be ready to take aggro off them the second they hit 3 stacks. So, as you are on tank you are only on the boss in a run the whole time? So please, don't tell me when *I* need sound effects to tell me what to do. If *you* need those sound effects, that's all fine and dandy, keep them on, let them help you, it's wonderful and fine. But don't insist on forcing me to listen to sound effects I don't need, please?
And as I said several times in this thread already, I want it as an OPTION that can be ENABLED and DISABLED. I would ENABLE sound effects for the kind of content where I think they'd be useful to me, and DISABLE them for the rest of the content. So the fact that there might be content where I would find them useful is not, in any way, an argument against implementing this option, at all.

Except she doesn't. As has been stated, your "fix" does not fix. If they wanted to disable ALL noise, yes, that would be the correct answer.
Some of the duties I do, specifically Titan, I've actually trained myself to respond based on the music. Turning down ALL the volumes just because of one set of noises is needless for me is not a choice. Consider that.
As for people saying that the noises are alerts (which they are), why does my MNK care if you cast raise? What benefit does my SMN get from a tank swap call? Why does anyone care that the WHM is casting Stone I? It's called an "option" for a reason. If you rely on it, go ahead.
There are help seminars for illiterate people, I'm sure you can Google them for your local area.
