I think it's foolish to claim that you can magically see dead houses everywhere. You can tell that the FC down the street is active, but you don't ever see anyone in the house next door? WOW! It must be a dead house, right? Well, or, it could be the fact that the ONE person who lives next door plays at different times than you compared to the DOZENS down the street in the FC. How are you people even deciding when something is dead?
Well, you look up the owner name, and they have no new achievements for months... um, maybe they just aren't actively working on achievements? Their gear or levels haven't changed... um, maybe they're socializing more than playing? Their garden doesn't have any plants... um, maybe they stopped gardening because they couldn't devote the time to it?
I'll say it again, that the number of houses that will become suddenly available is going to be small at first launch of this idea, and almost non-existent after it comes to fruition, because nobody wants to lose their investment. This is going to accomplish almost nothing but put more money in SE's pocket and make the naïve believers think they're trying to do something when their response to this situation is pitiful.
IT'S A MONEY-MAKING TACTIC, NOTHING MORE! They're telling home-owners "You can't take a break without paying us, or else we will take your house." And all of this is STILL just them pushing the blame onto the players so we don't focus on them and their horribly flawed system. And so many of you are taking the bait! It's ridiculous, and I can't believe that eviction and a loss of property(some property is NOT recoverable) is being met with cheers of joy.
Oh, and I forgot to add one, giant, resounding proclamation; DEAD COMMUNITIES ARE A RESULT OF HAVING PERSONAL HOUSING IN FC WARDS! Period. You can not have thirty people spread around a ward THAT large and expect the community to be "booming". The ONLY reason we all saw lively communities BEFORE personal housing was because it was FC ONLY HOUSING. Take off your silly rose-tinted glasses, think about who you usually see(almost always FC members, even now), remember when they were more lively(when it was mostly FCs only), and realize that your dreams of a community were crushed... BY SQUARE ENIX WHEN THEY FAILED TO IMPLEMENT PERSONAL HOUSING PROPERLY.
