I did make a thread regarding this when the Synthesis changes were announced, which was ignored lol.

But basically I would prefer to see just NQ or HQ materials (and not +2 or +3 equivalents - just straight forward either NQ or HQ), maintain the ability to produce +1, +2 or +3 gear and have each HQ item used in a synth add a percentage to the chance of HQing the finished product.

I would personally prefer that they did not make using HQ materials and instant guaranteed HQ item. I think it should still have some luck/randomness to do with the quality, but for them to really fix the quality system in regards to synthing.
How boring is it going to be for everyone to be running around in HQ gear because all they did was hit "go" on a synth where they happened to have all of the HQ components?

I also don't agree with only being able to HQ an item with all HQ materials, which is why I suggested that they have each HQ item used in a synth add a base % chance each time you use touch-up and depending on the quality that you have at the end.
All vintage gear is made from NQ base materials (e.g. torn coif as my example), so has it been confirmed if all vintage +1, +2 etc gear is going to be downgraded after the patch?
