    Will we be able to transform R/EX gear into Materia? *Bayohne :o*

    I have a simple question I know many are wondering the answer to.


    Will we be able to convert R/EX gear into materia?

    edit: R/EX means Unique/Untradable. I played FFXI too long so for me it will always be Rare/Exclusive

    There was a confirmation that you can't attach materia to dungeon/raid gear, something something about balance.

    There was never a confirmation whether u can spiritgrind the gears though.

    You're right I forgot about that confirmation. I'll take that part out of there, as the main question anyway was about being able to transform all the useless R/EX we have lying around into materia.

    The confirmation mentioned only NM gear. It's still up in the air whether or not raid/dungeon gear falls into this category.

    This is actually a good question, I thought I saw something about Unique (Rare) being convertable somewheres, but not Unique/Untradable (R/EX).

    I really think they should change it back to Rare/Exclusive Unique/Untradable just doesn't roll off the tongue as easily.

    I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders.     On the subject of uni/unt (nonNM) gear transform into materia, I would hope so cause atleast they would be useful even if they worthless.
