I've been leveling alt classes and there is no way an average player could get to 50 in two days. I'm not even sure I could do it in 48 hours of play, though this seems possible. That has to be botting or a lot of meth and unending attention span.

An average player should also not get 50 in just 2 days. 2 weeks is still pretty fast.

I fully agree that leveling secondary classes can be a pain. I had to level both THM and CNJ for cross class purposes, and while they don't play bad, I just don't enjoy their play style. Leveling in the late 20s and early 30s is where it starts getting really dull. I still plan on slowly working on all my classes to get them to the cap, and lancer is what I plan on being my next target, (until Heavensward releases, then it's Machinist), and I'm hoping it goes better for me. FATE and Roullete grinding is also quite tiring after a while, because even with bonuses and food buffs, it can take a long time to level if you don't have just hours to work on it.....
EDIT:
I hate to break it to you, but even if leveling was more difficult, then those people still wouldn't know their jobs. If someone doesn't learn by looking at skills while they're already unlocking them through FATE grinding then they clearly don't care about actually knowing how to play the class. Even when I have used FATE leveling, I still take the time to learn how a skill works once I unlock it, while still doing more FATEs. Taking more time to level up won't change how people play, it'll just mean they have to sit there grinding for longer.....EDIT: and why should MMO stop you from doing that? Because leveling and getting skills 1 by 1 actually teaches you how to play your god damn job. Alot of those FATE heroes are a complete joke in dungeons/raids, unable to keep up buffs or even utilize a lot of their skills.
And as for people leveling to 50 within 1-2 days, or even 1-2 weeks, then yes, that's actually even more work because if someone is willing to put that much effort into speed leveling then they are clearly putting in far more "work" than people who progress at a more normal pace. No matter how hard you make the leveling, there will always be people who put in the time and effort to reach the cap in as little time as possible. Making it harder to reach said cap wouldn't hinder those players by more than a few hours or days, (if it was made far more difficult), but it would serve to drive away the people who only get a couple of hours a night at the most to play, because they would have no incentive to play due to the majority of the game's content only being unlockable once you reach higher levels, and spending several months just trying to unlock it is beyond the patience of many players.....

I have one FC member who was one of the first level50 NIN on our server (not the first, but at least in the top 20, IIRC). It was a lot of Fate grinding, taking advantage of the ninja locust swarms with Fates melting in less than 30 seconds (at least before the Fate scale function caught on to how many people there were), plus dungeon exp grinding. And a certain degree of avoiding sleep. No illegal substances involved, however.
So in such a swarm of people doing it, it's definitely possible, and I assume it's going to take even less time for the three new jobs to get levelled come Heavensward since you'll have all three types of roles instead of just DPS. But this is mostly for the people who enjoy pushing ahead and going for the "First!" challenge. And it pretty much only applies during the "OMG NEW CLASS/LEVEL CAP" zerg rushes.
The average player or the average situation? No, not quite feasible IMO.
sadly fates dont seem like much of an option anymore since as of now most people are 50 and are rarely doing them... and lets face it with just one person doing the fates it takes alot longer and just sucks
Really? Im on balmung too and its pretty easy to find fate groups pummeling fates in quarymill, eastern la noscea, coerthas, and n thanalan. I've been in all those areas on two jobs fate grinding this week and have had no problem finding or starting a fate party. Theres been at least 2 fate parties up in northern thanalan at any given time at least one in coerthas and one at eastern la noscea quarymill its easy to start one Ive done it twice this week in quarymil. There are still plenty of people doing fates.

I'm actually of the opposite opinion. It should take even longer.
I understand that there are a few little bandaids in the game like above, but they are such minor amounts of exp buff. 3%?! it needs to be like 200% to even make a dent in the grind.
Yes I hope they do come up with something to fill the gaps with this! I didnt know about the guildhest gave you exp bonus with each Job! thats good to hear. I will give that a go and see how it runs.low level roulette, leves, doing each guildhest as they unlock (a lot of people don't know they give you really good first time exp on every new class you level and take almost no time), dungeons, and do your hunting log as you go.
not much reason to do fates except to catch up a bit or clear the gap to your next leveling milestone. they are really one of the most inefficient ways to level, and one of the most boring. I only used 120 leves or so 1-50, never really had to wait on them. most of them were spent in coerthas because i didn't wanna do stone vigil before DD first pull/donut plains leves. don't think i did any dungeon more than 3 times bar AV first room.
hopefully they come up with something a bit more enjoyable for exp 50-60.

Thanks to the Challenge Log and a bit of luck with how things go on Famfrit, it took me about ~82 hours split between various days/weeks to get my Lancer from 1~50 as my second lv50 class including the brief stop to level Marauder to 15~ish for the job requirement. Granted, when I have a goal I do tend to obsess over it -- but I don't deprive myself of sleep or dinner or social time for it XD
