I think a lot people are going to have a hard time clearing alexander normal, it won't be face-roll easy. Hopefully it gets people to improve themselves and learn their class better. Gotta put in work to get stuff.

trust me, some people have reaction times that are that sluggish, or can't afford decent internet connections. this site is a good way to gauge your reaction speed (my average is 287ms for 5 tries, and gets faster from there)."i suck" is one of the biggest cop-outs i've ever seen and I'm sorry but this just does not apply to almost everything in this game. TITAN EX DOES THE SAME MOVES EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!! It's called knowing what you are doing not "i suck"
Reaction time / lag / brain farts... all of these can EASILY be defeated if you just took 5 mins to look at a rotation list and say ok this is what i need to be ready for.
It's is 100% acceptable that you DO NOT get to experience something you can even put a minute amount of effort into accomplishing. Probably less than .05% of people on this entire form could get together with 7 other people and perform a choreographed dance number (successfully) without at least looking at the moves list first... so why in the hell would you expect to be able to do that in the game?
and if you bothered to read the OP, he has put in the effort. As have a lot of people.
I can almost guarantee 98% of the players are also done with raiding. Only 5% of the people were doing it before, and now pretty much no1 except the most dedicated are going to do the savage mode just so they can dye their slightly higher item level gear.

like i said... it has nothing to do with reaction time when you know the landslide / phase change / golems, whatever are coming... I didn't read the "what should be done about this" part of OPs statement because i don't think anything needs to be done, well except a little bit of practice and study on OPs part. Not trying to sit here on some high horse and say stinking casuals gitgud, hell i just cleared t12 and im looking to get t13 outta the way before HW drops, so thats like 2 weeks to study up and clear. The only reason why i know its possible is because most of my static has already cleared (again having a majority that has clear as opposed to 5/8 who haven't) So i am in no way that top tier but it has been said time and time again that getting 7 other people who know what they are doing makes a world of difference and Titan EX is pretty much the first time all 8 people need to know whats going on and whats gonna happen next. That why the fail rate is so high... so many people who are new to the idea of "team jump rope."trust me, some people have reaction times that are that sluggish, or can't afford decent internet connections. this site is a good way to gauge your reaction speed (my average is 287ms for 5 tries, and gets faster from there).

oh and 303ms avarage lol... best outta 5 was 209

This just says to me that you're hanging with the wrong people.
My static spends less time on raiding that it seems most people spend raging over early S rank pulls or farming ponies.
My rule of good raiding is to keep it fun and positive. If it stops being fun or if people are having an "off" night, call it early and do something else. I fully believe that you can play "casually" and still progress in raid content, at least in FFXIV.
Cool. Sounds like you've got your gaming priorities all figured out.
As for me, I'll take gaming accomplishment over a good nights sleep any day. I don't think that's necessarily the "right" or "wrong" way to play, but I have fun while playing so I figure it's probably all good. So you can go ahead and play however makes you happy, even if that's by playing an entirely different game.
But just because you're not enjoying it doesn't mean it's broken. I like fcob. I like savage scob. And it kinda bugs me when people try to convince me that I must be enjoying the game wrong because they're not enjoying it too. Feel free to find your own path to enjoyment, but don't take mine away. That's just rude.
When in doubt, assume sarcasm
I have mixed feelings about this. It's nice to see everything but when WoW introduced "looking for raid" (a feature that made raids drop low ilvl gear and made them as hard as a standard dungeon) it made the world feel smaller.
There was a nice feeling when I saw someone with gear from the game's hardest raids and knew I would never get that gear unless I devoted some real time to raiding. When LFR came out a lot of people felt that they had nothing else to aspire to and many raiding guilds started to fall apart. Yes, the gear was not very good but you still killed that dragon.
I'm a new player and fairly casual. It will be a long time before I am ready for, say, the Final Coil.... And I'm okay with this. I'm not ready yet.
If I keep to it maybe someday I will be.
It's an MMO. You're not supposed to experience everything easily.

Oh. Then I'd probably work on that first and foremost.
Not a lot of gaming-specific problems that suck worse than only realizing after hundreds of hours that you haven't even been having fun. Just wanting to waste time having fun, but ending up wasting time not having fun is like wasted time squared.

I don't really fit in, that's all.
