Yes, it is. There is already a lot of stuff to help not-so-good players beat content. You can outgear it, you get Echo, you can get help from better players. Or... and this will sound completely crazy to a lot of the playerbase: Get better yourself.

The story of Coil is simply lore (which we admittedly need more of in the main story, but I digress). You don't need to know it to understand the actual story, you can completely skip Coil and it won't have an affect on you at all, it just fills a gap for those interested in finding out about it. Think of it like... a sidequest in most games, where you learn about the world but it's not really stuff you needed to know. It's essentially a sidequest locked behind raid content, which I think is fine, because if raids don't have any relevance to the world then they just feel detached and boring. I don't think Alexander will be any different, but I feel like less people will complain because it won't be about the Calamity and instead it's own story.

But is it right I must wait years to experience its story? Not the loot, not the glory, not the achievements. Just the story behind it.

Then contradicts their own post with:

This was discussed months ago and please no wer so close to the expansion people lets not go backwards 5 big patches just to add an easy story mode to coil let us instead move forward to new content there's no point in spending the time and resources to do this when the game already lacks certain things like a glamer log wer running out of inventory space people.

More echo will surly be added but the mechanics they won't get rid of them and people using the excuse of we pay a sub there by we have a right to it well its already there you need to work for it. If a person pays for a lottery ticket dose that mean they have a right to the jackpot even if their ticket is a loseing one.


I mean for crying out loud I do love story's and will work to see them completed.

I just don't get it, you pay to have access to the game. That is why you are subbed. Thus, you have access to the story in coil with as much chance as everyone else. You aren't being oppressed or denied access to that story in anyway other than not beating the turns. If you are that sore about it then watch youtube, if you want the "in game" experience then beat the turns. Practice your class and form a group with friends and work on the turns like everyone else.

Remember when playing a game and getting better at it and finally beating something you worked hard for gave you a sense of accomplishment? I do.

The whole argument put forth is the real overwhelming sense of entilement people have. They dont even know what they paid for, but think they deserve everything.

If SE took things to an extreme in either direction, the game would suffer, that much is obvious. If Alexander serves folks on both sides of the aisle, deriding folks on either side won't near as valid a thing for raids.

Nope not angry. Now instead of actually having to do endgame, Ill just beat the easy mode in 2 days. Then go play another game and take my sub money with me.

People talk about not alienating casuals because they pay sub money but you don't want to alienate endgamers either because they also pay sub money. And usually the endgamers pay their subs much longer.

No offense, but sometimes people dont know what they want or what will be good for them in the long run. Quality of life, convenience and ease of access. All sound great. In some cases it is, but in others it greatly diminishes the depth of the game and the oppertunities you can find within the game.

On this particular point of content and access, there should always be something to reach for/work towards. You might call it stressful, others might appreciate having something out of reach giving them "reason/longevity" to continue playing.

Its great for all those that want to see the story in Heavenswards raid, that there will be two seperate modes. Personly i would rather see Square Enix adding more content that is out off reach"exclusive", seeing everything around me become ease of access, quality of life and convenience is quite depressing.
Speaking of the gaming industry in general and the path games is taking. Too much instant gratification and shallow sensasionalism.
Oh well atleast ill have fishing under a dragon....

No, the majority are not angry. Apparently you don't know how difficult the story mode will be either. If you can't complete coul now, you most likely will notbe completing Alex NM. Its still going to be difficult. Also creating two modes for new content is very different from dedicating resources to remake old content.

But it seems you dont really have a gripe at all. You can see the story without completing content, and they are making all old content much easier via the unsynced queue system. What is your issue exactly? That you have to play the game? Or do you just want to complain about more skilled payers for some imagined offense?

I'd rather not have to do things I don't want to either, I do however enjoy playing with others even on content I've already beaten. No one person is an island.
