graphics for ps4?

I wouldn't worry too much -- if you look at the before/after pictures in this link (you can slide it to show difference between DX9 and DX11), it doesn't look THAT different. Mostly, as Gilraen said, it seems just extra graphical stuff and not really texture upgrades or anything? Not sure myself, just going off the article and the pictures. I have a PC that can play the game in DX11 at Extremely High but I would still be satisfied with just the DX9 even if I couldn't, the difference seems so small when you actually compare them side by side (or slider).

Such conclusions are rather fallacious. When you see both in person, on your own screen, it definitely is different. The same goes for PS4 vs PC graphics. It is clearly there. People won't know since they usually have one or the other. Same goes for FPS, people don't really know the difference since they only possess one platform.

PS4 already has trouble maintaining 30+ at all times. I just hope SE will keep working on PS4's performance and graphics too. A console can only do and take so much unfortunately.

I guess this could be true - I was going off that site, and since I don't have a PS4 had imagined the images would look just as good as on my PC monitor. I play @ only 1080P with all settings maxed and usually avg. around 75-90 fps. I thought most PS4 players play @ 1080p by default, but I'm not sure what graphics settings they would have compared to PC users. I guess the only way would be to see actual screenshots of DX9 on PS4 vs same shot on PC with DX9 to check -- which would be interesting if both were 1080p but the PC one looked better due to graphics settings. Again, I agree - I'm used to PC so maybe that's why it seemed a little change.

I pretty happy the way the game looks on Ps4! If they add some sort of graphic option will be great but I not really bothered tbh. I could not play this or any game on a pc at all, I feel like I'm at work while looking at the computer screen and a keyboard along side. Games should be kept in a gaming console regardless of the graphics standard.that's just my opinion.

Adding extra graphic updates on a ps4 will alrdy increase a much longer loading times than there already is, I play from both and PS4 loading times can sometimes take the mickey.

Is that running at max settings on your laptop?

I think you're missing the part where the PS4 hardware will not change, ever, and the graphical settings within the game are fixed so as to have the game run optimally in all situations. If you go to Mor Dhona on a busy server on PS4 I guarantee you'll start to see a significant framerate drop. If SE did anything to improve the graphical quality of the game on consoles you would see an even bigger performance hit in busy areas. It's simply not possible to upgrade the graphics for consoles in a way that will still allow good performance across the board. The console versions just struggle too much already.

The only reason the PC version is getting some minor improvements is because of how much better optimised DX11 is versus DX9. That small performance increase can then be traded back for the new tesselation, lighting and shader features. Not all PCs will be capable of making the upgrade, so those that can't will remain on the DX9 client at the same quality as the PS4 version.

Since the PS4 isn't compatible with DX11 it's simply not possible to make that upgrade.

The fact my 3 year old laptop can load faster than the PS4 and thats on High laptop settings is saying something, and yes I do play on PS4, Laptop *when travelling* & PC.

Funny my PS4 loads much faster than my 3 year old laptop does your PS4 have hard drive trouble.

Regardless of what most say, it is possible to make some sort of upgrade, obviously not an exact copy of what DX11 is bringing to PC, but it is possible though it's highly unlikely SE would go through the trouble.
