graphics for ps4?

Eh that sucks i mean i know the ps4 has the power oh well don't get me wrong i understand the pc has more power but to make the ps4 ver seem out of date already seems a bit silly in my book

PS4 won't be getting any visual updates, for one DirectX 11 is exclusive to Windows software which is why I'd have preferred they either go with Open GL or wait for Vulkan. Second, as far as I'm aware, PS4 struggles to maintain 30FPS in some situations.

"Just like" doesn't mean "is," which when it comes to software development is a HUGE thing.
The PS4 can't really get any updates to graphics the way a PC can, as PCs are able to be upgraded above and beyond the PS4's capabilities, while a PS4 today will always be the way it is even 10 years from now.
Something FFXI's devs didn't really take into consideration...

I think the PS4 can handle a graphics upgrade, as for PC's, not all PC's can handle DX11, I have a PC that can handle the benchmark on med/high, I have a PC that as of now can't even handle a small fate without going to it's knees like it was hit in the CPU, look at the PS3, there are apparently enough people playing that they are bringing 3.0 to it.
