What do they mean when thy say "nine areas?"

I am not sure if this has been clarified or not, but I am a little confused.

Areas= Each and every zone =1 area (Ex: Ishagard Foundation/Ishgard Pillars= 2 areas)

or

Areas= Areas with the same name= 1 area (Ex: Ishgard as a whole = 1 area Dravanian as a whole= 1 area).

Just want to know what we are getting in the expansion is all.


PS: Astrologian= Corsair + Healing! Pick a random card and hope it lands on a good card! ( I hope there are moves to make picking the right card easier).

By "areas" they are referring to "overworld zones".

So there are 9 new zones, 2 of which are the city of Ishgard (every city is comprised of two separate zones). That leaves 7 open world zones to explore and play in.

That being said that every zone is as large as 2-2.5 zones we currently have. So Western Coerthas Highlands is probably as big as Central Shroud+East Shroud (or larger). The base game has 3 "countries" made up of 4 zones and 2 city zones (6 total). If you multiply those 7 zones we are getting by the 2-2.5x space they are quoting, we are getting new areas spanning the size of 14-18 older zones. Not exactly the "bigger than ARR" we were quoted there for a while, but definitely a huge addition to explorable space. Plus we have verticality in zones so it has the potential to be even more.

Because of the description I think of it like "All of The Black Shroud + Most of Thanalan" for a size comparison :3

Basically, I'm asusming it's like the Entirity of La Noscea x2 (So basically, the game is going to make our current game 66% bigger)

Right now, you basically have two city zones + 6~ "World" zones. We're getting 2 more city zones + 7 "World" zones + instances inside them. And those world/city zones are supposed to be bigger.

So basically, think about it more as the world is going to be the size of La Noscea + Black Shroud or Black Shroud + Thanalan etc etc...
