Returning player just wondering what new?

Hello folks I took a break for a few months and now returning to the game!

I was wondering what is new? I still have to finish the main story quest for Before the Fall and I'm at An Uninvited Ascian. How long is it before I've completed this quest line? Any nerfs? And will I be able to overcome my social anxiety when I'm in a dungeon?

Heh heh, yeah. Anyways, I'm totally looking forward to Heavensward and meeting all you in game to do some adventuring!

Luckily you're not that far from the end, but you still have to do the Chrysalis boss fight, on top a fair bit of story exposition quests to do before you get to the Steps of Faith (the final boss fight), and the resulting quests and ending cutscenes. Steps of Faith originally was very difficult (due to requiring flawless co-operation and communication between players in the party) but it was recently nerfed (I tried it pre-nerf and I just couldn't get past it for various reasons, but post-nerf it is much easier and far more enjoyable) so you should not have any trouble with it.

There are no more dungeons you have to do for the main story, just two boss trials (Chrysalis and the Steps of Faith). Things that are new that are unrelated to the main story is the addition of FFVII's Gold Saucer amusement part (accessed via a quest in Ul'dah), several new optional dungeons, and more. But really the 2.55 patch was mainly to with the completion of the 2.X storyline in preparation for Heavensward.

So just keep at it, you don't have that far to go.

Aww I wish you were in Balmung, we could've done dungeons together. :c I've had to overcome social anxiey myself, and I feel this game is great for that. People are generally very friendly if you go in with a friendly and social attitude. It's also always more fun when you go with friends, especially with skype or some kind of voice chat.

Honestly, I just came back myself. I know we have the Gold Saucer now (chocobo racing was a big disappointment for me though sadly), and.... idunno. xD

I recommend you jump into the main story ASAP and get it done before Heavensward hits as the area of Ishgard will not be available till after the current storyline.

As for nerfs - one story line fight was nerfed, you'll see it later. And Final Coil of Bahamut has received some Power of the Echo buffs, but no nerfs.
The Golden Saucer gives more MGP and the Poetry weekly cap was raised from 450 to 900/week.

@Miya_Carbuncle lol Yeah that would have been nice. Most of the people have been friend and I've only meet a few bad apples.
