They should plan their posts better and avoid speculation wars and turning people away because there is not enough information to keep people interested.

I think they try to spread out the info as long as possible, also they probably like it when we speculate. We like to think that the Devs thought of everything before they implement something, but one of us posters may say something they haven't thought of, so they probably make constant changes before releasing the patch.
I think they give the bursts of info a bit at a time regarding a patch because it's info on what part of that patch they've just either 1: finished working on or 2: about to work on.I think they try to spread out the info as long as possible, also they probably like it when we speculate. If it's 1, then it says "We've managed to do this for this patch, so anything more regarding this particular part of the game will be implimented into the next patch"
If it's 2, then it says "We're going to do this and sneakily keep an eye on the forums to see if there's anything extra we can throw in that people are demanding, without telling them, so when the patch comes out they'll be pleasantly surprised."
That's how I'd do it anyways.
I think the dissemination of info is generally great, and to be honest it shouldn't be SE's problem that more than a few belligerents are always keen on blowing their heads off at everyone at the drop of a hat, but a little more care in providing several key details on things might help to alleviate that problem if just by a bit.
Hey, if they announce it far enough in advance, they get to not only hear a thorough review of exactly what it is we do and do not want --- but they get to watch the people who treat every single adjustment like a possible nuclear war go absolutely apesh!t on eachother for no reason, which is always fun.

Information is good... But SE has a tendency to release incomplete information, which leads to speculation, which leads to arguments.
Frankly I think the arguing is natural and there is really nothing wrong with it, though some people need to brush up on their etiquette.
MUST HAVE POSTS @.@ i could go without direct human contact indefinitely but MUST HAVE NEWS FROM SE @.@
i don't care if they install some amount of hate in me, i must see that they are actually doing something.... and as far as stuff, they are doing a lot /simplypleased!
Good. Communicating > not communicating. Misunderstandings will happen no matter what. If we think something sounds wrong, all we have to do is ask for clarification. (Preferably before over-reacting.)

Overall it is a good things.. this forum well will complain about everything 100% of the time guaranteed. The forum community is more split in this game then any other mmo out there atm.I notice that every time SE puts up some new info, everyone understands it somewhat differently and then come these huge discussions which then turn into some nasty fights.
Do you think SE keeping us up to date like this is good? or bad?
Want to see the community's opinion on this
and please try not to fight among yourselves!
Examples:
1)OMG the dungeons are instanced if they do not add open world content I quit... OMG the bstmen settlements are not instance this is BS if they do not make stuff instance I quit...
2)OMG this crafting is too complex this is BS.... omg they are simplifying crafting WTF they are ruining the game...
3)The armory system sucks every job plays the same.... Wtf they are adding specific party jobs, Defend the armory system they are destroying what makes this game unique....
See the contradictions up there.
Best thing anyone can do is just ignore 90% of the forums and try to get good bits and pieces out of it.
In general we will never get rid of the complaining... the game has a bad rep atm, until this game is considered the WoW killer (which will never happen) people will slam literally everything the devs do. It is just how mmo forums work now days, does not matter what is done people will simply talk like everything is bad.
Overall the updates are good, atm they are using them to build hype honestly. To get people looking forward to the patch. It is why we get a small bit every other day or so leading up to a monstrous patch note. Square is intentionally adding small bits at a time to keep us watching. Whether or not it is a good idea can be argued... it gets me looking at the front lodestone page everyday though and a feeling alot of others as well.
Best way to handle content updates/game changes:
Accept that the game will change over time
Put faith in the company whom you are supporting by playing their game
Remember that single player games once upon a time we're created by developers under a "we think this will work" concept, and most of the time, it did. They would create a game based solely on their own ideas of what they think a player would enjoy. Gamers would purchase these games, play them, enjoy them, and praise the company for it. Final Fantasy gained it's reputation this way. There is nothing to say MMO's cannot work under the same circumstances. I believe Square Enix can make this game as note-worthy as it's predecessors solely on what they think would make a good MMO. FFXIV wasn't perfect upon release, it could have done with more time in development so as to contain more content upon release, luckily these days, this problem can be rectified with just a bit of time and patience by it's players.
I like content updates :3
