    dissapointed in asylum graphic

    After seeing the heavensward job video i was pretty excited. However one nagging issue just bothers me like crazy.

    Asylum is a blatantly cloned animation of sacred soil. When every other class is getting cool new attacks, spells and animations this is pretty ridiculous. Its probably too late to actually change at this point but it strikes me as lazy. Looking back its pretty clear sch also got the short end of the stick as well. Seems like most the effort in the spells department was thrown at astrologist.

    I cant be the only one bothered by this. Maybe its a pointless but ill vent my frustration here. Would be nice to get a more unique graphic. I understand why it has defined boundaries but it doesnt have to look so much like a bubble instead of just a healing field. Just because healing classes are getting somewhat homogenized doesn't mean our spells should all look the same.

    It doesn't seem to have the same colour or pattern as soil, and the casting animation is completely different

    I think its fine... would have been great tho, if it was some sort of bright green glow animation on the ground instead.

    I was hoping for more water spells for whm since all you have is fluid aura. I guess a healing rain would have been copying too much?

    Bright green glow on the ground?
    That's the whm pvp skill Sacred Prism.
    If asylum looked like that, wouldn't ppl complain it looks too similar to that, just as we have ppl complaining here that it looks too much like SCH Sacred Soil?
    (which it does not, imo)

    Well, if the whm's regen bubble would be too detailed or bright, it'll cause more harm than good :P
    Specifically when it comes to ground targeted AoEs

    Cloned enough for me. I think it should have other kind of animation. A Pyramid, a cone, a fence around the AoE. Something like that.

    But... I have to admit that making the skills look alike makes it easier to the DPS to recognize a 'good AoE' so they run into it rather than away.

    White Mages are one of the jobs that get the best new skillset come heavensward with things like Stone III and Aero III that have great visuals. Not to mention WHM is one of the flashiest jobs already (Holy, Medicas)

    And you're complaining because one skill looks like another and you call them lazy for this? Are you actually being serious?

    Old spells looking nice doesn't really have anything to do with anything when it comes to putting out new content. My complaint isn't about aero or stone. Sorry to disappoint but I actually like most the other whm stuff. But seriously dont get so defensive just because someone makes an observation or states an opinion.

    I never said they were indistinguishable, just overly similar almost as if the base graphic for asylum was sacred soil with some changes. Admit it, you had to recheck the job skills video just to make sure of the differences.
