•The existing low level roulette will be combined with the low level Heavensward dungeons into a Main Story Roulette. The level 50 dungeons will be combined into the Hard roulette and the level 60 Heavensward dungeons will be the Expert roulette.
One thing I do expect though, is that if this is the case, we'll probably have a decreased loot chance or have rare loot, (IE: Mounts, minions, non-aetheric gear), completely removed when we're not running with a full party and level synced. Otherwise it would make farming for, well, anything you wanted that drops in a dungeon or trial way too easy. That being said, it'll give us more incentive to just run through old dungeons for fun, even if the loot is decreased or removed....
Sounds more like they are doing this to help people get other people through the content faster. For example one high level player drags a lowbie player thru the dungeon so they can gear up and get completion. Unlike the poster above me, I actually think leaving the loot tables for the old content alone is wise. Because it wont have much use later on anyways (except maybe glamors), so why nerf or remove the drops?
If this is true this is brilliant, because the higher the levels get, the harder it will be for new folks to get through the old content.
After reading through the translation of the article, there are some really awesome things in there!Super excited for the new raid (that hopefully wont be as punishing to those with minimal time on their hands)

VERY GOOD DESIGN CHANGE =)
I'm not saying it would be bad to leave armor and weapon drops alone, I'm just saying that I find it unlikely they would completely leave all the drops alone because that would cause a lot of backlash with the community because of stuff like pony farms or rare minions. Particularly since, (and I'm mostly going by another recent thread here), it's speculated that the new iLevel cap will be close to if not at 200, and the current content has been designed with 135 as the max with ten less actual levels as well.....Sounds more like they are doing this to help people get other people through the content faster. If this change only extends to dungeons and not trials or raids though, then I can't really see any issues with it in terms of rare loot. If it does however cover all content then I can only see them keeping it balanced by removing the drops on most gear for the very reasons you said.....
That being said, loot or no loot, I don't have a problem with it. I'll just enjoy getting to go back and destroy old dungeons for the fun of it, and I'm not one of those people who gets jealous of other people getting something easily that I worked hard to get. I got it earlier than them, and I still have the stories behind actually getting it, while to them it's just easy meaningless loot.....
Wait what... Didn't they say they thought 2.0+ caused iLevels to rise too fast and they were going to reel it back for Heavensward? Now it's going to be even faster? What happened to slowing it down and giving us some more horizontal growth instead?Patch cycle will be same as ARR with even numbered patches raising the item level cap. It will rise faster though (greater than the 20 ilvls at a time in ARR).
Sigh, guess we'll be in i300 by 4.0...
Same like WoW then...
We used to farm xmog gear(glamour) , mounts or gold(gil) alone.
This is great for vanity farming. Absolutely love the idea.
Welp. Just let my chocobo come in there with me and I'm good.
