Just for clarification, using this system will not remove the item drops, therefore you can use this feature to obtain minions, equipment for glamour, and the items needed to upgrade Zodiac weapons.

So far speculation on relics has been that those who have completed their zodiac prior to HW will get some sort of consideration and that may be with regards to foregoing a step in the process of upgrading. Others have mentioned that there is a new relic 3.0(1) that will not need prior relic to be completed. However what is said here is the the new system will help us get the items needed to upgrade Zodiac weapons.

The part I underlined is pure player speculation. "Taken into consideration" can mean anything, even simply meaning that an NPC involved in the new quest may use a different dialogue which acknowledges the fact that someone completed their relic quest. At that point the accomplishment would be "taken into consideration".

Anyway, to answer your question.. some people may want to complete the (soon to be old) relic quests because they want a particular glamour, or want to experience that part of the storyline, or are simply completionists. Keep in mind that "zodiac weapons" include Atma, Animus, Novus, Nexus, Zodiac Braces, and Zodiac Zetas.

i've been begging for something like this for so long. This will make leveling the new DPS classes (as well as any alts) so, SOOOOOOOO much more bearable, and hopefully expand the range of party finder groups.

Patch 3.1 and 3.2 will see improvements to the Wolves Den system. First, 3.1 will add matching based on points/rating. But there are bigger plans as well, such as season-based ranking that resets with each major patch. The highest ranked players will get special titles and items. Wants to end up with a similar system to LoL. This would probably be in patch 3.2.

I like the sounds of this! Give PvP'ers some way of showing off their ePeen. I think that will help encourage more of them to come out of the woodwork. I also hope they will do something about the GC restrictions, I think that alone is the biggest downfall to a rather fun PvP experience.

The lowest sync should provide dyeable versions of the dungeon sets which aren't, along with a plethora of achievement rewards & at least one special minion.

A special mount for completing all past content on lowest sync would be epic!!!

Wouldn't that be redundant? Considering it's all level synced now? Even more so considering how the armor is already dyeable via their crafted alternatives?

The primary complaint with relics was grinding old content for current tier weapons. Would it not be more wise to invest development time on the new content? All they're trying to do is breath life into content that will go unused, and quite frankly, this is enough.

Maybe so, but this would be synching to e.g. level 28 for Haukke Manor instead of 32. With the gear limited to lvl28 gear as well. It might be tricky to implement, though.

As for crafted alternatives... That's all well and good, but they come with a lot tighter class restrictions. Want to use a dyed Acolyte's Robe but you're a Black Mage? Tough luck, it's healer only. Want to use those dyed Infantry Boots for your tank glamour? Tough luck. It's Monk/Ninja only.

There's one question I have though on this. Will this mean we can bring in lower level players to essentially powerlevel them or does exp take a significant hit (as in nothing at all, if not next to nothing)?

Sadly, I'm guessing it'll follow the same Exp rules that already exist -- you get exp as long as no one in the party is more than 10 levels above you.

Yeah, I'm unfortunately assuming the same as well lol. Not that much of a problem I guess. Adds a bit of incentive for a challenging alternative to the current exp grind. I had a lot of fun soloing some dungeon stuff on the SCH. It's just a PITA to find/bother folks that are willing to help you queue then drop... as short of a time that is to queue and drop.

I have an alt on Levi, only SCH/SMN are lvl 50 at the moment and as I'm still gearing SCH my SMN is pitifully geared for a level 50 but I do love doing unorthodox dungeon runs if you want to do that sometime. I've done a few all-SMN runs on my main and SCH wouldn't be a stretch.

The other challenge I want to start doing is some dungeon runs where the full party is in First Person POV mode the entire run through. Just talked some people into it for part of Main Scenario Roulette to keep it interesting, I had to back out of it in Ultima though for the sake of not letting the first-timers die.
