Because it wont have much use later on anyways (except maybe glamors), so why nerf or remove the drops?

If this is true this is brilliant, because the higher the levels get, the harder it will be for new folks to get through the old content.
I'm not saying it would be bad to leave armor and weapon drops alone, I'm just saying that I find it unlikely they would completely leave all the drops alone because that would cause a lot of backlash with the community because of stuff like pony farms or rare minions. Particularly since, (and I'm mostly going by another recent thread here), it's speculated that the new iLevel cap will be close to if not at 200, and the current content has been designed with 135 as the max with ten less actual levels as well.....

If this change only extends to dungeons and not trials or raids though, then I can't really see any issues with it in terms of rare loot. If it does however cover all content then I can only see them keeping it balanced by removing the drops on most gear for the very reasons you said.....

That being said, loot or no loot, I don't have a problem with it. I'll just enjoy getting to go back and destroy old dungeons for the fun of it, and I'm not one of those people who gets jealous of other people getting something easily that I worked hard to get. I got it earlier than them, and I still have the stories behind actually getting it, while to them it's just easy meaningless loot.....
